The Queen of Bass Ayah Marar just released visuals for her latest banger “Keep Me Up” produced by Hospital Record’s own Metrik, and I can’t get enough of this chick. My first intro to these two working together is on Metrik’s remix of Mrs Marar’s “Unstoppable” off her album “The Real” and when Mistajam from BBC Radio 1xtra made the announcement that he was going to premiere their latest collaboration, I knew it’d get real. This is a must listen and check the shots of Ayah and her team of MCs as they take over New Zealand and perform at the Rhythm & Vines music festival!

Hip-Hop, Rap, Trap | Andrew Luce – Candy Shop (Remix)

Posted by on March 15, 2014

I’m pleased to share a banger coming straight from my home-base, so you all better give this fool some plays for this seriously insane remix of 50 Cent’s notoriously known “Candy Shop”. Somewhere between trap and dirty hip hop, the feel for this song is all too dope. Did I mention this dude is barely old enough to drive? Props from the FNT fam.

Recently debuted for a packed house on the final set of the infamous Groove Cruise 10 Year Anniversary, “WIL” brought the crowd to a roar. The SHM classic style chords mixed with nasty drop that bangs out on all cylinders has been teased now for quite awhile. DSK CHK intro’s a new protege only known as “Brink” and consistent with the DC packaging, there is little known about the artist in the cameo.

DSK CHK leaves us with a steaming hot trailer that would make 50 Shades of Grey look like a high school date. You MUST check this out, but warning, this is not work place friendly!
Check the trailer here:

Wondering where the hell Trademark has been? Turns outTrademark has been locked in the studio collaborating with one of the biggest vocalists in electronic music, Nadia Ali. If you get the chance to catch her live on her current tour, you can listen to the set her and Trademark put together. ANYWAYS, Trademark made another mashup and it’s another banger…what’s new.

In the ancient Sanskrit language the word Bodhi means awakened, which happens to be a perfect description for what the duo of the same name has done to this London Grammar tune. In it’s original form ‘Hey Now’ was a lax ambient joint with etherial vocals over a droning back drop, but Bodhi snapped and flipped it into a gorgeous dance floor banger with deep bass grooves and a house swing. If you’re patient and listen as the track lulls midway, it will culminate and liberate all inhibitions you may have had about dancing alone in your room.

Hip-Hop | Sage The Gemini – College Drop (feat. Kool John)

Posted by on December 18, 2013

I can see the college girls steppin’ to this. With another installment from Sage The Gemini, a bay area rapper thats been on some serious grind lately, this is just another banger for the books. I can only imagine San Fran clubs going bezurk for this. From his forthcoming album Remember Me, “College Drop” is just a little insite for the rest of his anticipated tracks.

Albums, Review, Trap | Brillz – Retwonked

 BRILLZ

Just a week ago, Brillz dropped a remix rendition of his Twonk LP. This release is suitably named Retwonked and is a song for song remix package (granted, there are two remixes of WTF on here), and it again takes trap style music and gives if a jet engine face wash.

Brillz is among the clan of artists that are responsible for keeping trap music – and other genres, in a less significant manner – interesting and moving forward. Mundane isn’t in this dude’s vocabulary. I love listening to Brillz mixes, and seeing him live because his music is a blast to party to. It’s trap music that’s hyped way up, and includes so many elements of different genres, that he can toss in just about anything that is high energy and it feels right at home. He brought on a bunch of remixes by his other fellow innovators for this package. The result that is unprecedented, and packed with upside-down A’s. I gave a few words about each track, as well as an EP teaser mix and a full length Brillz mix after the jump.
