Exclusive, Featured, Progressive House, Videos | Walden – Intropial (Video) [FNT Premier]
Posted by Middy on February 12, 2013
Coming off a string of strong releases to start the year like “Intropial” and his remix The Only’s “Looking Back“, as well as a successful US tour, the Australian producer makes his next release in video form for his latest single “Intropial”. Using the same, unique animation style as his previous single “Ciaco“, this video takes us to a futuristic, Orwellian cityscape that pits a David & Goliath battle between the giant, corrupt Walden Industries who has total control over the citizens through “Identity Cubes” and the small resistance group “Intropial” led by the founder of Walden Industries’ son. It is an interesting backdrop to this great song and provides a welcome relief from the somewhat bland live footage we see in many music videos.
More exclusive info for you guys, Walden will be releasing his next EP “Machine Land” on March 11 just in time for WMC, so be on the lookout for 3 more singles from the young Australian as he continues his strong start to 2013. Also check him out tonight as part of the Mixify Rise Festival over the next 3 days that includes talents like Tritonal, Knife Party, R3hab, Arty, Deniz Koyu & Henrix. Trance | Armin van Buuren vs. Arty – Nehalennia
Posted by Spice on February 11, 2013
Up next in this week’s epic batch of releases is Armin van Buuren and Arty’s stunning collaboration (which nobody knew was coming prior to its preview on ASOT 598, amiright). From the melancholic piano riffs to the floaty, chopped vocals, “Nehalennia” is a gorgeous trance journey from start to finish, befitting of the goddess it is named for. Small wonder that it’s slated as the opening track on Armin’s A State of Trance 2013 compilation, which is set to drop on Valentine’s Day.
On a related note: swaggy kicks in that artwork, Armin.

So this track came out of absolutely NO WHERE. My jaw hit the floor when I saw Armin tweet this preview and I have yet to pick it up after hearing it. This is pure unabated trance that we saw from Arty from his Alpha 9 days and sprinkled in after. Bask in the pure bliss of this track and get ready for its release on February 14th as a part of the 10 edition of A State Of Trance compilation. Speaking of said compilation, the tracklist was released today and it is monstrous. With new tracks from Armin & W&W (what?!), JOC, BT, Gaia, Heatbeat, Andrew Rayel, Omnia, Aly & Fila and many more, this will be a must have for any trance fan. Click past the break to see the full tracklist. UPDATED with a longer sample.

Above & Beyond’s much awaited compilation on their flagship label, Anjunabeats, has finally released the tracklist ahead of its March 4th release date. The compilation includes previously released tracks like “Wayfarer“, “Sinai“, “Isla Margarita“, “Vision“, “Here We Go” and “Small Moments”. There is a whole host of new tracks from Arty, Above & Beyond, Maor Levi, Norin & Rad, Andrew Bayer, Jaytech and many more. Some of these songs we have heard before as IDs, and many more we have not, so it will be a great treat to hear this in full on March 4th. Check out the full tracklist after the break. You can pre-order the compilation now here.
Preview, Progressive House, Trance | Arty feat. Chris James – Together We Are (Preview)

It just isn’t fair sometimes. Everything this man makes is just too good. First premiered last New Years, Arty’s most sought after ID is finally finished and has its release info. He added vocals from Chris James of “The Veldt” fame to the track and it works very well. Just bask in the blissful glow of the lush pads and reverbed piano and know that February 18th Big Beat will have this release for you.
Trance | Audien – Wayfarer
Posted by Spice on January 14, 2013
With his second full Anjunabeats release (inspired by the sunglasses of the same name), Audien proves that he is without question someone to keep an eye on in 2013. “Wayfarer” premiered on the first episode of Above & Beyond Group Therapy — when Jono, Paavo and Tony dropped it live in Bangalore — and it’s easy to see why they chose it as their opening song. Bright gated synths and a groovy hook make this an indisputable feel-good jam, along the lines of what we’d expect to see from Arty or Sunny Lax. Audien may be a newcomer to the scene but I am definitely already loving his sound.

Progressive House, Trance | Armin van Buuren’s 2012 Yearmix
Posted by Spice on January 7, 2013
For some reason I’m only just getting to the magnificent feat of editing and mixing that is Armin van Buuren’s 2012 Yearmix. Armin spent close to a month chopping and refashioning 101 of the year’s top trance tunes into one blissful, continuous two hour mix that aired on A State of Trance at the end of December. Diehards will have already heard this in its entirety, but I’m calling your attention to it now in the event that it got lost in the holiday shuffle because it’s not something to miss. Not only does it provide an excellent and diverse cross section of the year in trance, but Armin’s unparalleled technical mastery is on display to the fullest extent (I cannot stress enough how agile, seamless, and creative his transitions are — if you have any sort of familiarity with these tracks, he’ll have you in total awe in about three minutes). Check it out below and be sure to take a look at the full track list after the jump.
