House | Archie – The V

Posted by on November 27, 2012

Archie departs from his normal piano filled progressive house ways and gives us something more experimental and unique with “The V”. It brings together a medley of different sounds and styles that while grounded in complextro, adds splashes of nu-disco and french house to this outstanding production from Archie. We saw him depart from his normal sound earlier in the year with Mystro and succeed, so it is great to see the evolution and maturity of this promising young producer.

Progressive House | Krewella – Alive (Archie Remix)

Posted by on October 24, 2012

Yes this song has seen remixed quite a few remixes, but when Archie steps up to the plate you have to listen. He combines his skillfully crafted arps with uplifting melodies, mixing in Krewella’s vocals and gritty electro stabs. The track combines the melodic tendencies we expect from Archie, while adding a toughness to give the track a new dimension.

House | Lift Off #005

Posted by on October 16, 2012

We are back with the 5th edition of Lift Off. Me and w8 have provided you with a bevy of quality tracks, the vast majority of them being free — something I know you all love so much. So without further ado get right into it because your ears have work to do. The Hardwell supported, Dannic remix of HELENA’s track with Mr. Wilson “Girl From The Sky” gives us his take on the track, bolstering the melody by giving synths a fuller body and more anthemic feel. The vocal has been released for free, so DJs go for it.

Beatport: HELENA Feat. Mr Wilson – Girl From The Sky (Dannic Remix)

Betatraxx and Morten Breum combine on “Get Static” the first single on Betatraxx’s “Mercury” EP that combines a whole host of different styles from heavy electro to more more subtle piano and string builds. This superb production provides a breath of air with its eclectic sounds.

Primacy Funk gets a two spot on the 5th edition of Lift Off, first with this track that utilizes blissful chords to create this feel good track.

Next up we have the enigmatic Russian Erik Taylor better known to the world as Archie, who has of late failed in some aspects to live up to lofty expectations set by his early productions, but this time he switches it up a little combining guitar with his signature Archie sound.

Next we get into bit more of an emotive melody from Lars, combining infectious vocals with a superb piano melody.

DO SOMETHING

Progressive House | Archie & Fareoh – Feathers

Posted by on September 5, 2012

Archie coming off of his huge trance track, “Desire” reconnects with New York producer Fareoh, who has just recently returned from opening for Kaskade on his highly successful “Freaks Of Nature” tour. Their previous collaboration “2012” was a massive hit that both skyrocketed their collective profiles. While this track is not groundbreaking in its sound and creativity compared to previous releases from both producers, it is still a very good production that merits your consideration and download with its smooth progressive melodies, well timed stutters, playful arps and slowed interludes.

Trance | Archie – Desire (Club Mix)

Posted by on September 4, 2012

Archie not only makes widely popular progressive tracks, but can also make some quality trance tunes, (he has also dabbled in dubstep and hard style, which wasn’t that great). The young Russian, Mr. T, picks up the pace with this track with a more traditional trance feel to it with a high bpm bass line, quick saws and a long build creating a feverish anticipation of a high powered drop with a growling undercurrent and fast moving melody. Archie does it again with another outstanding production and shows his versatility to make whatever style he so chooses. There seems to be no limit to what he can do.

Progressive House | Archie & Polina – Here and Now

Posted by on August 1, 2012

Archie has finally decided release one of his songs on Beatport (he has turned down deals before) after releasing countless songs to the masses for free. While this may not be the very best effort he has put together, it is still a very good one and worth the support, considering all the free music he has provided. The vocalist, Polina known for her work with Afrojack & Steve Aoki, Michael Woods, Laidback Luke, David Morales and others provides beautiful vocals that work impeccably with Archie’s progressive melodies. Archie coming off a rather disappointing release in “20% Cooler”, returns to form with his uplifting progressive sound, creating fine tuned melodies, blissful arps, and subtle layers to create a full body track that separates the good ones from the great. If you can find it in your heart (or wallet) to support Archie, I think he would greatly appreciate it, but with his bright future, there will be more opportunities to come.
