Hip-Hop | Yelawolf ft. Eminem & Gangsta Boo, I’m A Boss Remix (Dirty Version)

Posted by on November 11, 2011

Creeping up on the release date of his debut album, Yelawolf just dropped another track called Throw It Up. Being a big advocate for the South, I can see why Yela would want to get some features from Southern rappers…but Gangsta Boo? For those of you that don’t know, Gangsta Boo was that real thug chick that used to be with 3 6 Mafia back in the early 2000’s. Yelawolf should have saved the Eminem feature for a track with just him and the bossman, although I’m sure there will be at least one of those on the album that we’ve yet to hear.

Yesterday we brought you the clean version to this DOPE remix. Now here’s the CDQ DIRTY version, so you can listen to T.I. kill this track with no skips.

Hip-Hop, Rap, RnB | Grapes on a Vine – Betty Wright f. Lil Wayne

Posted by on November 9, 2011

Legendary soul & RB singer Betty Wright recruits Lil Wayne for this track to help promote her album, Betty Wright: The Movie, which was co-written by The Roots Questlove. The fact that a legend like Betty Wright felt the need to recruit Lil Wayne for her album to spark interest is pretty sad, but it’s just further proof of what the music industry has become these days. If you need to sell records just find an artist like Lil Wayne, Drake, Rihanna, or Bruno Mars to feature and you’ll have something the majority of people want to listen to

Videos | Timeflies Tuesday – Dancing in the Moonlight

It’s Tuesday, and you know what that means. Another Timeflies Tuesday. Rez takes the King Harvest track and does his thing with it, then tosses it over to Cal for his usual freestyle. It’s mind blowing that these guy put out quality track after quality track each week. If you haven’t bought their new album you can grab that here, otherwise support them on Facebook.

DO SOMETHING

Hip-Hop | Gym Class Heroes-The Fighter

Their third single to drop from their new album, the Papercut Chronicles II (being dropped in 1 week). It’s an infusion of One Republic’s Ryan Tedder and Travie McCoy going at it on one single. The catchy hook is poppy as always and I’m not as impressed with it as I am with the Neon Hitch collaboration. With their collaborations with Adam on Stereo Hearts, Neon Hitch with Ass Back Home and Ryan on this, I’m intrigued to see if GCH did any solo work on their album. C’mon Travie, sometimes less is more!

Hip-Hop | Mac Miller-My Team

Produced by Clams Casino, this leak “My Team” may be released tomorrow on the full album “Blue Slide Park.” This leak comes right before the album drop, hopefully a sign of what is to come. I’m really holding my breath on this release, seeing an artist grow this much from no one to the one is a lot of pressure. Hopefully it isn’t another Mr. Rager, a lot of hype with a huge fan base leading to a so-so album. With his previous EPs being how they are , I wonder what Pittsburgh producer I.D. Labs did to Mac for Blue Slide Park. With 16 huge tracks coming at us tomorrow, we shall see what is to become of Mac’s career.

Albums | Food For Thought: Drake’s “Take Care”

[NOTE: the Tweet above is from June 24th, 2011]

Let me preface this post by saying, FNT is no saint nor do we pretend to be. We’ve slipped up numerous times in the past and will most likely continue to do so in the future. It’s just the nature of the beast. With that said, we are refraining from posting the most “buzzing” album we’ve seen in a long time, Drake’s “Take Care”. It’s not because we are scared, it’s not because we think we are above everyone else, it’s not because we don’t want you to hear it. It’s because at the moment we think its the right thing to do. It did well over 200k downloads off Hulkshare alone in the first 2.5 hours so it’s out there if you want it. We aren’t stopping you from typing “Hulkshare Drake Take Care” into your browsers. I simply want to give the following article and the related tweet I’ve posted above some much deserved attention, perhaps it’ll influence your decision.
