Interviews | Bricks Break’s Down His House Roots, Timing, Future Plans & More In Exclusive Interview

Posted by on July 19, 2016

Bricks has a classic LA story but with some genuine depth to it that’s just likeable, frankly. In this FNT interview, Bricks breaks down where his house roots came from, why he makes what he does (which is fluid dark hip-hop-influenced house that totally suites 2016, check out previous posts on our site), and so much more. Read all the details here.

How would you describe your style?

Brian: I’d describe it as a collection of all the styles that have influenced me through out my life. It’s combination of House, Miami Bass and Hip Hop. I add the groove of house to the raw 808 miami bass sound, then work in some vocal chopping and analog 80’s synths, and out comes up the Bricks sound.

Razz’s track “Right Back” still has us buzzin’ so when we found this in our inbox we were thrilled! Collaborating with Zack Martino, Razz drops a remix to “Walking On A Dream” and it is a beauty! “This record really brought back memories of our youth, so we decided to put our own spin on it,” says Razz, “We want you to feel like you’re back in one of your childhood memories after listening to this.” I don’t know about you, but this definitely transported me back in time to the days when things were a lot simpler. A beautiful vocal, combined with a summery drop has Razz & Zack Martino’s remix of “Walking On A Dream” on my list of summer 2016 hits! Check it out now and see for yourself.

Bass, House | Bricks Breaks New Ground With First Release “Get Down”

Posted by on June 21, 2016

LA based Bricks is starting fresh.”Get Down” is his first release, showcasing a unique balance of electronic music elements that are new as well as familiar aesthetics layered. My favorite part of the experience is the light horn melody. Before you know it, the Diplo-style vocal sample takes over and the drop hits.

The style is different, kind of like a chill bass house with trap-like elements, hard to pinpoint exactly, but a unique feeling is delivered.

Rumor has it Bricks has many more tracks under his belt and will be release some soon. Keep your eye out for him as we get deeper in 2016.
