Progressive House | AN21 & Max Vangeli vs Tiesto ft. Lover Lover – People of the Night (Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman Remix)
Posted by Middy on September 16, 2013
The good guys of Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman are finally here with a release in 2013. The duo are no stranger to big remix requests, like their Miike Snow remix and they take full advantage of the opportunity on this one. The original was a much more melodic effort from AN21 & Max Vangeli as they got ready for their album, but Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman inject their own big-room flavor to make this track relevant once again and put it right back into DJ radio shows and sets, as we enter the last few months of the year. Coming up, at some point, they have their second release on Size, “Rebel” with AN21 and many more.

Electronic, Videos | MØ x Diplo – XXX 88
Posted by mimada on September 10, 2013
While certain big-name female celebrities continue to slowly chip away at the world’s image of a role model woman (not pointing any fingers this time), 2013 has fortunately reeled some incredibly talented female acts into the spotlight who go above and beyond to compensate for the wreckage. See: Banks, Jessie Ware, Charli XCX, Lorde, Aluna Francis, just to name a few. And adding to the list I present to you my latest female vocalist of interest, Danish electro-pop songstress MØ (pronounced “moo”). Take one part Scandinavian sweetheart, one part sultry temptress, top it off with a fat gold chain and a ponytail and you’ll get this bonafide badass singer. Check out the video premier of her latest track titled “XXX 88,” produced by the one and only Diplo and you’ll get a feel for what I mean. And if you still want mo’ MØ, keep an eye out for her EP and album release later this season.

Hip-Hop | PropaneLv – Control Remix
Posted by Jess on September 9, 2013
PropaneLv gets it. He wasn’t very quick to hop on “Control” as every rapper out there was doing it… and this certainly isn’t a “response”. It’s more like 3 minutes straight of masterfully crafted bars over one of the biggest beats of 2013 thus far. Lv touches on a lot of things and clues fans into some of the ups and downs in his camp lately.
He also announces that his debut album Varsity Blues due later this month is sponsored by Monster DNA. Good looks.

Ah finally, this remix will see the light of day and an official release. It has been done and approved for close to a year now, but with all of the incredible songs that Size Records has in its stores, it never got to be released. The duo give the track a big-room boost of energy, reviving it for the later months of 2013. Look for this September 16th. This is only the beginning of Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman on Size Records, with “Rebel” set for release at some point and possibly other tracks as well. Coming up for Size, there is a Chris Avantgarde track slated for release in October and plenty more.
Trance | Omnia – Immersion
Posted by Spice on August 26, 2013
The more I hear from Omnia, the more I’m convinced that the young producer can do no wrong. “The Light” is arguably one of the biggest trance anthems of 2013, and while “Immersion” tends in a more melodic/less punchy direction, it’s just as evocative and infectiously catchy. It’s already achieved Tune of the Week status on A State of Trance, several weeks in advance of its official release, so you know it’s good. 60 percent of the time, it works every time, indeed.

Events | The Worst Lineup Conflicts At Electric Zoo – And How To Handle Them
Posted by Middy on August 22, 2013
Waiting for festival schedules to drop is always a funny thing. On the one hand, you’re antsy for set times because you want to start planning your weekend. On the other, you know that when the announcement comes it will invariably serve to confirm all your worst fears about lineup conflicts — terrible, unspeakable conflicts which will surely force you to choose between two or more of your favorite artists. Such conflicts have been known to divide friend groups, start arguments, and lead to tears. Okay, we’re being dramatic, but you know you totally feel us. Electric Zoo is no different, so check out what we think are some of the most glaring and painful conflicts of the weekend — and our advice for dealing with them — after the jump.
(Note: one thing we do know is that those who enter Sunday School Grove probably won’t be racing out to hit the mainstage at many junctures during the weekend, so there aren’t too many conflicts to contend with there. Not bad, eh?)
House, Techno | Cassy – fabric 71

With Electric Zoo 2013 drawing closer and closer, it’s time to start doing your homework on the lineup so that you’re guaranteed to get the most out of the weekend. One of the places we’re most excited to hit is the notorious Sunday School Grove, which will be churning out deep house all day on Friday (and indeed, all weekend) until a sure-to-be-awesome closing set from the legendary Danny Tenaglia. Who, of course, is from New York. Fitting.
Friday’s lineup in the Grove is stacked, but we’re particularly stoked to check out British-born/Austria-rasied/Berlin-based Cassy, who has been taking dance floors the world over by storm. She’s maintained no less than four residencies in 2013, including at the much-touted Output in Brooklyn. In advance of her set, we strongly encourage you to check out her upcoming mix for London’s fabric, which is funky, atmospheric, and expertly crafted. Stream a promo mix below, and check out the full track list after the jump.
