Dubstep | R Rated #11

With the start of a new year, Mach and I were talking about what tracks we would like to see released in 2012 that were not released last year. The funny thing was, we both named the same track as our most wanted unreleased track. Gemini’s style is second to none and it can be seen through this track and his other releases. Seems as though the only way this track might get released is if we bug Gemini enough to where he gets tired of hearing about it. So everyone who wants this track knows what to do; get on twitter and get to work haha. Now time for some nasty tunes.
All I could think to myself at the start of this song was that I couldn’t stand Cascada’s voice in this track. After the drop all I could think to myself was how I love Cascada’s voice in this track. Barron bringing the filth with this drop and it is a 100 times better than his voltage remake.

Justin Perea goes all out on this remix of We Are Massive. The drop reminds me of Alvin Risk’s style which probably explains why I can’t stop listening to it.

Mach and I both agreed that we liked this drop better than the original drop. Kabuki Zombie takes another route to creating the drop than Doctor P did and it makes the track sound heavier.

It has been a while since we got a release from J.Rabbit. Terravita released a little two track EP and this monster was on there.

Candyland is another new comer to the dubstep genre and lately he has been putting out some sick tracks. This one in particular caught my attention starting off with a nice melody into a sudden, but monstrous drop.

Electro-House, House, Progressive House | House Recap for 2011
Posted by Middy on January 11, 2012
I chose Avicii for the picture because it was his year, he was able to hold the EDM community in the palm of his hand with his unreleased tracks that he would play live, but never release. His sound has become one that many have attempted to emulate and “Levels” was the song of 2011 (teaser). It was a year that saw the rise of new stars such as Madeon, Alesso, Tommy Trash, Cazzette, R3hab, and more. The grip that Europe had on EDM is slipping away and the US has become the largest market in the world for house with its wealth, space and population. The large number of festivals sell out incredibly fast and are only growing in their popularity and number. One prime example of the rise of EDM in US festivals are the headliners at Coachella, a festival with a tradition in rock and hip hop and some EDM, but this year with stars such as Swedish House Mafia, Alesso, David Guetta, Kaskade, Avicii, Afrojack and more gracing the stage, one cannot argue the prominence of EDM in American music. It has taken over pop music with producers such as David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Afrojack, all producing number one hits in the US. While Sweden and the Netherlands still hold the titles of having the highest total of most talented Djs, countries such as France and England are coming along right behind them with guys such as Gregori Klosman, Tristan Garner, Madeon, Arno Cost and more from France, and Tim Mason, Calvin Harris, Third Party and more from England. In 2012, the prominence of the US will become even stronger with festivals drawing even larger crowds and bigger bills for the summer festival season and clubs having packed schedules with guys touring the US multiple times a year.
I also foresee the rise of Asia as the next big landing point because there is infrastructure of clubs in places like Japan and South Korea, but with the rise of EDM in Asia, the numbers will only swell. Also areas that have growing economies such as Taiwan, India and Indonesia are also getting more and more clubs and throughout their respective countries and they becoming hot places to tour. I also know that India and Bangladesh are going to be big and the EDM scene will expand rapidly in the coming years because we have a solid base of fans there. Check out the rest of the recap with top 25 songs of the year, artists to watch in 2012 and more after the jump.

2011 was truly an extraordinary year for Timeflies. It’s amazing to watch artists’ growth over such a short period of time and even more impressive to see the fans support explode with so much passion. In lieu of the malicious Mayans forecasting the world’s end, @WhatupCal & @RobResnick sample Jason Derulo & Nicki Minaj’s track, “2012 (It Ain’t The End)”, adding their own personal stroke of genius. If by some chance the Mayans predictions of the world ending on December 21st of 2012 hold true, Timeflies is guaranteed to go out with a bang. If the world doesn’t end, they’re still going to have one hell of a year and I’m excited to see just how far they can take this dream.
They have teased us with the streaming audio for this right now, but once they hit 25,000 followers on @Timeflies they promised to drop us the mp3. GO FOLLOW!

Hip-Hop | XV – End Of The World

IT IS 2012! That means we have 11 months and 21 days to be extra mischievous. I’ve already broken my new years resolutions so I’m not really into being holier than thou the year of 2012. XV killed it in 2011, so I want to see how he goes in 2012. He’s hating on social media in this song, which I get. Maybe 2012 I’ll delete facebook off my iPhone…maybe…ugh..wait…no.
