Hip-Hop, Videos | OnCue Is The New Meme King of Hip-Hop With “No Way” Video
Posted by Grubeats on January 29, 2015
A musicians presence behind a camera can often make or break their music. Brooklyn based MC, OnCue, has always taken pride in crafting unique, original, authentic music videos to complement his everlasting sound. From the stop-motion laced “Way Too Far” to Cuey Nuts and milk showers in “Cereal” to the hazy “New Religion” video featuring Just Blaze & cardboard Dorothy, OnCue always delivers something fresh and innovative.
In support of his debut album, Angry Young Man, Cuey released the official music video for his most recent single, “No Way” just yesterday. In true Cuey form, him and director Hunter Lyon (side-note: follow this kid, he’s super talented with the camera) cook up a video like none of us have ever seen before. Honestly, I’m still trying to my mind around the logistics that went into making this work. Superimposing himself on some of the internet/Reddit’s hottest stories – Bieber getting his paparazzi rage on, Zombie turtle lover kid, the creeper who interrupted a live newscast – & several more, Cue shows us why he’s not gonna stop ’til he gets it. Fortunately for us, someone over at Buzzfeed has already aggregated the memes used in this video into one post so you can relive them all over and over and over and over again. Be sure to show love to Cuey & Hunter for this work of art!

Tomorrowland’s sister festival, TomorrowWorld, made history in 2014 with a lineup consisting of the world’s top DJ/producers that took to the Chattahoochee hills for three days of madness. One spectacle at TomorrowWorld was definitely the Dim Mak x Smash the House stage where Dim Mak returned for their second edition of the stage. Boasting a lineup of Wolfpack, Borgore, 3LAU, 3 Are Legend, and many more, the Dim Mak crew released the second part of their Dim Mak Invasion recap series to shine light on the insanity that the label’s artists delivered. Check out Part 2 of Dim Mak Invades TomorrowWorld 2014 above and watch part 1 here. Buy your tickets for TomorrowWorld 2015 here as well.
Videos | OWSLA Shows Off Their TomorrowWorld Festivities in Recap Video
Posted by Juicebox on January 20, 2015
One of America’s newest festivals, TomorrowWorld, brought the mystical experience from its Belgian counterpart, Tomorrowland, to Georgia, maintaining its elite reputation. Boasting a lineup with too many star DJ/producers to handle, the festival made sure that its 2nd edition would be one to remember to close out 2014. Skrillex’s OWSLA stage flew in names like Alvin Risk, Foreign Beggars, and Yogi to rock the festival grounds for a day of some quality dance music. Recently, OWSLA released a recap video of the stage and Skrillex’s main stage set. It’s safe to say that it made me want to book my tickets immediately. Between the magical atmosphere and madness directed by Skrillex’s family, the recap video shows off a simply good time. Check out the video below and if you’re bold enough, grab your tickets for TomorrowWorld 2015 here.
Hip-Hop, Videos | Cabbage Crew drops video for their single ‘The Return’ produced by Felly
Posted by FilthyTaft on January 16, 2015
The Cabbage Crew, a hyphy crew of two young rappers from Boise (Steezy G and Stranz), take their production efforts to LA with a collab with Los Angeles rapper and producer, Felly. With a dope beat laid down with a violin melody, the two rappers kill the entire track while the adventurous visuals from their new video project add to their entire image and presentation. They’re young but talented, we expect to see a lot more developments from the Crew. Check out all their work on Soundcloud, and enjoy.

Premiered by Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 in February (who made it his Hottest Record In The World) Tchami delivers an incredible Oklahoma-based video for “Promesses” featuring UK vocalist Kaleem Taylor. Promesses is out now on Ministry of Sound Recordings. Huge tune.
P.S. – Tchami had the best set, hands down, at Lights All Night. Smoked everyone.

Hip-Hop, Rap, Videos | Timeflies Are In Love With The CoCo, But Not That “CoCo”.
Posted by Grubeats on December 24, 2014
Tis the season for Timeflies to once again throw on those ugly sweaters and rock out to a less than expected viral jam. Unlike years in the past, Timeflies turn up to the trap-rap hit of the fall, “CoCo”. In typical Tuesday fashion, Cal and Rez spin O.T. Genasis’ street anthem into a family friendly Christmas jam. Wait, what? Essentially, if you were to replace every drug reference with a sweet, edible equivalent, you’d get the same result. “BAKIN’ COOKIES, WE BE BAKIN’ COOKIES!” Even the street slugs are going to be boppin’ to this one.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
P.S. Rez – that hat, though. >>>
Cover, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday – Burnin’ It Down
Posted by Grubeats on November 12, 2014
Imagine Jason Aldean had the ability to insert a Sean Kingston hook and then drop a verse mid song – essentially, that’s what Cal and Rez just did with his latest hit, “Burnin’ It Down”. For those of you still resistant to country music, ride this segway and give it a shot.
Holy shit, I can’t believe I just endorsed country music. Past Grubeats would kick me ass right now.
Tickets are still available for Timeflies second show in Boston next week on Thursday, 11/18: GRAB TIX HERE
