He catches up with Alesso and they talk about hey they met and came together to collaborate and Seb plays their collaboration “Calling (Lose My Mind), as well as Alesso’s upcoming single “Years”. A great episode with another to come after WMC, which should include some brand new tracks from artists there as well as a clip from a new original track from the Swedish powerhouse. Girl Fire, Preview | Felix Cartal – Black to White (Feat. Miss Palmer)
Posted by Spice on March 1, 2012
Don’t know what you’re working with on this first day of March but here in D.C. it’s 70 degrees out and far too sunny to be working. This day was made for the following things: 2.5 hour lunches (whoops), outdoor cocktails, driving with the windows down, and Felix Cartal’s latest banger, which features some great vocals from Miss Palmer (of “No Beef” fame) and an enormously infectious chord progression that I haven’t been able to get out of my head all day. Been a minute since we’ve posted straight up girl fire on FNT so be sure to give this one a listen. “Black to White” drops on iTunes on March 6th.

Events, Preview, Progressive House | Laidback Luke – Speak Up (Preview) + US Tour
Posted by Middy on March 1, 2012
Laidback Luke is a man who never rests with his Mixmash forum where he responds to all music submissions and tirelessly responds to his fans tweets and Facebook messages like few other artists. All the while he is able to crank out bangers like this one, “Speak Up” with Wynter Gordon. He has been playing it out for the better part of a year now and has really left it a mystery of when he would release this monster until very recently when he released the preview and the release date on March 12th. He is coming over the US for a massive US tour with many more dates to be announced, so do not miss him when he hits your city / area because it will be a party you would be remiss to skip. For those of you heading down to WMC & Ultra check out his Mixmash Pool Party, among the many ridiculous shows that week, because the lineup is great and it is an all day/night pool party. Listen to the preview for “Speak Up” and mark your calender for March 12th as this is going to big. April will remixes of “Speak Up” from the likes of Chris Lake and Mark Knight among others.

House, Preview, Videos | Preview: Felix Cartal – Domo (Pierce Fulton Remix)
Posted by Middy on February 19, 2012
Pierce Fulton is not taking any breaks from releases after his huge single “Who Wants Spaghetti“. The young American no longer needs an introduction with the compilation of remixes and singles he is putting together. This remix he did for Felix Cartal’s latest single “Domo” on Dim Mak Records utilizes much of the original build with its soft piano melody and then Pierce turns it on in the break with some harder percussion and electro synths that gives this song a great club feel. Release on Tuesday so be ready. Also check out the video above of him killing it in his first headlining show at Glow DC.

Arty first premiered this ID above at Pier 94 a few weeks ago, and sounds extraordinary, a truly monumental record still waiting on a release date. So below, to start your weekend off right I scoured the net for the best and amounted to nothing less than a buffet of progressive gems. All of these heaters are placed in no particular order and each deserves adequate attention. I’m sure a few are destined for immediate download.
Names is an exciting record that builds into a lively drop, get it on iTunes.

Kawaii is an immersion of happiness waiting for you to press play, get it on Beatport.

Tobi D’Eramo sounds like he’s ramping up to become something special in EDM. I predict he’s on the verge of monstrous records in the near future, let this be a reminder of his talented ear and what’s next to come.

At first I considered this track a bit mild with a mediocre synth, and later felt the underlying piano gave it that extra dimension needed so, considered it worth my ears.

Alex Engström elaborates on the soulful side of progressive with his take on Revita, rarely do you get a chilling effect from progressive records. Alex Engström manages to capitalize on that, making it my favorite track of the bunch, get it!

Electro-House, Preview, Progressive House | In My Mind Trailer, Destimix, Dunsker, jaYadav
Posted by Middy on January 27, 2012
If you are not excited for “In My Mind” releasing on Monday, then you really need to reevaluate some things in your life and stop watching re-runs of Teen Mom. Here are some quality original tracks and a remix from my inbox who have really stood out. Alex Skolds aka “Destimix” provides this upbeat progressive house song with uplifting melodies, but also brings some originality to the table with a little bit of an old school feel to it. Alex Dunsker or just Dunsker provides a hard hitting electro song with heavy breaks and softer builds. The jaYadav remix provides a heavier alternative to this song from Starkillers and Nadia Ali that has been charting incredibly well. Nadia Ali’s vocals are of course amazing and the remix adds a heavy, high energy, pounding electro drop.

Electro-House, House, Preview | Preview: Pierce Fulton – Who Wants Spaghetti
Posted by Middy on January 26, 2012
The 19 year Vermont native on Mark Brown led CR2 records, Pierce Fulton, has revealed his latest single “Who Wants Spagetti”, to be released February 13th. Still enjoying the success of his widely supported “Pardon My French” EP, as well as his remix of Chuckie & Gregor Salto’s “What Happens In Vegas“, Pierce Fulton is prepared to have a huge year having already played alongside the likes of Tiesto, Mark Knight, Nicky Romero and Calvin Harris this year alone. Make sure to mark February 13th on your calenders because this high energy, electro infused track packs quite a punch.
