Dubstep, Preview | Colin Munroe ft. Pusha T – The Fight Of My Life (Zeds Dead Remix)
Posted by GMONEY on June 29, 2012

Some heavy s*%t coming your way from dubstep duo Zeds Dead. The Toronto-based group does it big this time in the form of a Colin Munroe remix featuring Pusha T. ‘The Fight Of My Life’ first teases us with the tranquility of Colin Munroe’s vocals, then kicks us square in the nuts with gut-wrenching bass and wobble that has come to make the duo so popular. Be sure to look out for the release of this one on July 17th and until then, keep raging through the weekend with this preview!
Preview, Progressive House | Kaskade feat. Neon Trees – Lessons in Love (Fareoh Remix Preview)
Posted by Spice on June 26, 2012
“Lessons in Love” has never been one of my favorite tracks on Fire and Ice. When push comes to shove, I’ll always prefer female vocalists with Kaskade’s arrangements — they’ve simply got the breathy and wistful game on lock. With that said, I’m definitely excited about this upcoming reboot from Fareoh, because like any good remix it appears to exploit the strengths of the original while simultaneously building out in a new direction. The young producer, who is currently opening for Kaskade on the Freaks of Nature Tour, puts a fresh spin on this Neon Trees collaboration, injecting some catchy synth hooks that drive the intensity and lend a brighter, more house-inflected vibe. I get the feeling that Fareoh is deliberately denying us the red meat in this tease of a clip so I definitely can’t wait to hear the full version when it finally drops.
Preview, Progressive House | Dada Life — Kick Out The Epic Motherf**cker (Otto Knows Remix Preview)
Posted by Spice on June 21, 2012
Dada Life is clearly about to drop an absolutely massive remix package for the already massive “Kick Out the Epic Motherf**ker.” First Datsik brought the womps, and now Otto Knows is bringing the chords. He puts a completely different spin on the driving, almost relentless theme of the original by layering in big, dissonant swells that rise and fall beneath the vocals. The result is a track with an utterly fresh tone and vibe — I can’t wait to hear this one in full.
Disclaimer: listen to this preview at your own risk. The build is prolonged and and torturous and the clip cuts out at the precise moment of the drop. Reminds me of a certain video I had the misfortune to take at an Afrojack show last month…let’s just say that Sev still hasn’t recovered.
Preview, Progressive House | John Dahlback – Embrace Me (Dirty South Remix)
Posted by Middy on June 18, 2012
The distinguished Dirty South has released his remix of John Dahlback’s “Embrace Me” after premiering it on Phazing Radio #003 to critical praise. Dirty South is one of those producers who takes his time with his productions and does not over release, thus making each one that much more important. He does not miss on his tracks and has another in his arsenal with his collaboration with Alesso “City of Dreams“. “Embrace Me” combines the euphoric synth melodies that Dirty South is so skilled at making with a well crafted build, a strong clap driven bass line and male vocals that fit perfectly into the track. Dirty South has himself another monster to accompany his remix of “Devil’s Work” that is still doing work in sets all across the globe, so do not miss this one.
Dubstep, Preview | Dada Life – Kick Out The Epic Motherf**ker (Datsik Remix Preview)
Posted by Spice on June 18, 2012
What happens when the dark, glitchy sounds of Datsik collide head-on with the unbridled energy of the Dada Life boys? Well, I just spent about ten minutes constructing a really elaborate narrative involving a robot army sword fighting with bananas and broken champagne bottles in an apocalyptic, post-nuclear hellscape (if this doesn’t make immediate sense to you…well, then you’re probably a totally normal person; congratulations), but this isn’t the time or the place. Anywho, this remix is going to be unequivocally awesome. Datsik opened with it at EDC LV, so if you were fortunate enough to be there you’ll already be familiar with how massive this is. The build that starts at about 0:32 is insane; so is the heavy, textbook Datsik drop into which it unceremoniously careens. No word on an official release date yet but we’ve got our eyes peeled.
DJ-Set, Preview, Videos | Pierce Fulton Chapter 3 Part 1 + Get Weird Ep # 001
Posted by Middy on June 15, 2012
Pierce Fulton takes us behind the scenes on his touring once again as we follow him during his first headlining show in NYC a couple weekends ago at Santos Party House. He shows us how different his sets are with a slew of personal edits, making his sets a new and unique experience. The video footage from the show previews a new remix of a Steve Aoki track that will be out on Ultra Records in the next couple months, so be on the look out for that. We also see a little bit of his home up in Vermont and that will be continued in the second episode where we will see more of the creative process in the studio.
Below is his monthly podcast “Get Weird” of Tiesto’s radio station on Sirius XM. It gives a bit of a change of pace from the usual podcasts we see starting with some tech and moving to more of a trance / light progressive mix. It is a mix that builds and builds like a proper dj set should. Tracklist after the jump.
Preview, Progressive House | Ken Loi feat. Zashanell – All It Takes
Posted by Middy on June 3, 2012
Australian born, San Francisco raised Dj and bootleg master, Ken Loi has been on our radar for a long time as he has grown as a producer. He has been making tracks that have been very good, but have lacked that je ne sais pas quoi to make them great, but with “All It Takes” and his upcoming remix of “Angels” he may have turned the corner and grown into the potential he has always shown to have. Zashanell provides vocals that fit very well with the incredible hands in the air melody orchestrated by Ken Loi with a varying bass line and a piano melody driving the build. Ken Loi has been championed by Tiesto and this track has been supported by the legend himself with others like Kaskade, Bingo Players and Adrian Lux. Below is a preview of his aforementioned remix of Adrian Lux – Angels, which adds a little extra to the melody with a little extra bite.
