Electro-House | Tiësto & Showtek – Hell Yeah!
Posted by Middy on June 4, 2012
Tiesto does it again. The legend can simply do no wrong from Trance, Progressive House, Electro House, DNB and now hardstyle, Tiesto is proving once again that is he one of the best producers ever. Showtek, the dutch hardstyle duo teamed up with Tiesto to create this hardstyle fashioned track that will appeal more to the mainstream with an original base of a hardstyle track, with a high powered break of driving synth chords, a powerful bass line and some cowbell, beckoning you to get this party started. Tiesto’s contribution is really seen in the interlude of big room synths with well timed stutters and a driving base that leads into an second break even bigger than the first. Showtek fans may be angry that they “sold out and went mainstream”, but just listen to this track and you will see how great this one is.

Electro-House | Lazy Rich and Hirshee feat Amba Shepherd – Damage Control
Posted by Middy on June 4, 2012
Lazy Rich has done his fair share of quality remixes and original tracks, but has never been able to break into mainstream conscious of EDM fans. He is recognized for his production prowess, but has not had a string of incredible productions or an album to put him on the map like some others. “Damage Control” is not guaranteed to be the track that sends him down that road, but it certainly has a chance. A complex lead of intricate key work, a varying bass line and Amba Shepard’s blissful vocals that crescendos into a signature Lazy Rich drop of grinding, distorted low end synths and driving bass with a big room interlude gives Lazy Rich the opportunity to make the most out of 2012.

Electro-House | Deadmau5 Ft. Chris James – The Veldt (PIXL Remix)
Posted by Mach on May 30, 2012
This has to be one of the best remixes I have heard of this track. PIXL gave a little extra push to make this a smooth track to dance to. I am not saying in anyway that the original does not compare, Deadmau5 is a legend, and lives up to the name continuously. PIXL transformed this track into something as equally amazing, just in a whole new light.
Dubstep, Electro-House | James Egbert – Legion (Original Mix) & In The Beginning EP
Posted by Spice on May 30, 2012
I hadn’t heard of 24 year-old James Egbert prior to tonight but was almost immediately happy that I did. The young producer has already managed to cultivate a formidable mastery of the filthier side of electro-house, a feat that is most definitely on display in his newest original mix. “Legion” is a triple threat, if you will, showcasing Egbert’s ability to combine catchy hooks with heavy synthwork and top quality production. This track is a monster and the drop at 2:47 is pure unadulterated awesomeness — quite possibly one of the best I’ve heard in a while.
Read on to preview his recent EP, “In The Beginning,” which brings more banging electro-house, excellent vocal tracks, and some gritty dubstep that still features great melodies.
Electro-House | Sato Goldschlag – Mr Mister feat Wynter Gordon (Laidback Luke remix)
Posted by Middy on May 30, 2012
Nothing cheers you up after a day of a delayed 9 hour international flight with too much turbulence and crying kids like seeing this absolute monster in my inbox for download and the follow-up email saying it can be given away as a free download. Sato Goldschlag had been warning me about something big at Ultra and they were not kidding with this massive remix from Laidback Luke premiered at the festival. Laidback Luke keeps some of the original synth melody put down by Sato Goldschlag, while utilizing Wynter Gordon’s angelic vocals as well as anyone can. He then adds grimy, grungy low end synth chords and a prominent string melody with a varying bass line that completely changes the character of the track from a poppy house track to knock you out of your chair electro house banger.

Electro-House, Mashups | Kaskade vs. Steve Aoki & Tommy Trash – Be Still Ladi Dadi (Kaskade’s Freaks of Nature Mashup)
Posted by Spice on May 30, 2012
I’ve always been a big fan of Kaskade, but ever since “Fire & Ice” established itself during EDC weekend as our de facto car soundtrack he and I have been undergoing a serious renaissance. As we know, the 41 year-old loves treating his fans to free mashups (which usually involve the juxtaposition of soaring female vocals and unlikely backdrops); here, he layers the vocals from his own “Be Still” on top of Tommy Trash’s remix of “Ladi Dadi.” I’m personally more partial to “Be Still Big Bang”, as I find that Franz Novotny’s instrumental offers a particularly stirring context for the vocals, but this is wonderfully done and a great listen.
Electro-House, Progressive House | Nicky Romero & ZROQ – WTF!?
Posted by Sev on May 28, 2012
Nicky Romero is back at it again, but this time with a little help from ZROQ, releasing their new single WTF!? The wait from UMF nearly killed me. Watching the stream of Nicky dropping this track just sent me over the top as well as with the crowd. He has yet to disappoint me with his releases, and the fact that he brings his own hard hitting electro style to house music makes me favor him even more because he strives to put himself on a different level from his colleagues. Providing us with an amazing Nicky Romero intro we love so much, that slowly builds its way to an over-the-top, electro styled drop that leaves you in a state of “WTF!?”. Nicky Romero will be a force to be reckoned with this year, and this is only a taste of what is to come. You can grab this track on Beatport HERE.
