R&B is a genre that gets lost in the shuffle, with EDM, Pop and Urban dominating most of the mainstream media outlets and blogs there is a significant amount of talent that goes unrecognized. Though, with the prominence of acts such as The Weeknd, SoMo, PartyNextDoor and others, some light is starting to get shed on one of the few genres that has proven to withstand the test of time.
Boston native Dylan Reese is one of the most promising talents in R&B in quite some time. Smooth vocals, incredibly original content and a work ethic that is required to make it in this industry. Dylan wrote ‘Miss America‘ back in 2013 but only recently put the finishing touches on the track with his very talented producer, October. This track really encompasses all of Dylan’s talents as the content is on point, the hook is extremely catchy and you even get Dylan spitting on a verse.

Newcentz’ fight with adversity has molded his heart into a chilling organ. Growing up in West Baltimore, life has not been the easiest for this budding artist. It all started with Newcentz being incarcerated at 16 years old, serving a three and a half year sentence. And then recently the 23 year old artist just lost his friend to a senseless murder at a Baltimore lounge. Putting all of this pain into his music is what will push his progression. The end goal with a career in music is for his three daughters, so that they don’t have to live with the battles that he has faced.

‘You have the voice of an angel’ is what I said when I first heard LAUV; No, I am not John C. Reilly and I am not talking about Will Ferrell in Step Brothers. Ok, thats not even what I said, but, ‘Holy shit, I didn’t know you could sing!’ was what I said when LAUV gave me a sneak peak of his debut single a few days prior to its release. Formally known to those in the industry for his EDM producing skills under a different stage name, LAUV is coming out of the gates swinging with his debut single ‘The Other‘.
With a voice you’d expect to be in the next big boy band, ‘The Other‘ consumes you from the first few notes all the way through to the last. There was no doubts about his production skills but he has absolutely outdone himself putting his writing skills on display. LAUV is going to be huge, very huge.

R.LUM.R is new on my music radar, but hot damn, the dude from Orlando kind of just blew me away with his debut release “Show Me” co produced by EthniKid, and if you’re fan of this new age R&B music, you’re going to dig this latest, it has vibes for days! From a bass heavy production, to that soulful vocal melody, I’ve has this track on repeat, and it’s straight sex. This is a must listen and a must download!
