Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Casey Veggies – Customized Greatly 3 (Mixtape)
Posted by dshaq on April 9, 2012
Casey Veggies’ growth as an artist has been evident through his various releases. CG3 is a great example of it. Just last year while in attendance at a Mac Miller concert, I got to see Young Veggies open for Mr. McCormick. Although I wasn’t that well versed in Casey’s music then, he commanded the stage and provided the crowd with some good tunes, which assured me that he has the potential to be a truly great rapper. After his first album, Sleeping In Class, Casey brings us this brand new project. Phenomenal beats mixed with great flows keep us focused throughout the project, anticipating the next song. My standout tracks would be Customized Greatly, PNCINTLOFWGKTA, Get That $, and Thoughts Weigh. Peep and download the tape below.
Mixtapes | Stalley- Savage Journey to the American Dream

Although I didn’t know Stalley was still a thing, Rick Ross continues to put his weight behind “Savage Journey to the American Dream” that’s chalked full of features from Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and other weed carriers that work for Maybach Music. The best cuts can be found below. M-M-Maybach Music!

The day has finally arrived, Mac Miller’s fourth mixtape installment Macadelic is in our hands after multiple setbacks and datpiff crashing as usual. I’ve just started listening to the tape and I’m liking what I’ve heard so far. Definitely refreshing after Mac Miller’s debut album, Blue Slide Park which in my opinion wasn’t what I was expecting. Not saying I didn’t enjoy some of the songs, but The High Life and K.I.D.S were a different caliber. Mac also linked up with a couple artists I wasn’t expecting, Kedrick Lamar & Lil Wayne. He also released the video to hands down the biggest banger on the project, “Loud” but it looks like YouTube has pulled it for violating the terms of service. I’m sure it will be back up soon. Listen to this mixtape and get Macadelic in the meantime!
Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Chief Keef – Back From the Dead (Mixtape)
Posted by dshaq on March 20, 2012
Chief Keef is a Chicago boy that is making quite a buzz around the music industry, which even my boy Derrick Rose approves of. This isn’t you’re run of the mill college frat rap music, this is the complete polar opposite. This is straight up trap musik with real trap beats and bountiful gun shots. Just the way I like it. Word is that Sosa, Mr. Keef’s alter ego, just signed with Soulja Boy and his SODMG label, which makes sense with Soulja’s verse on the 3Hunna remix, so we might have a Riff Raff x Chief Keef collab which is almost up to BasedGod proportions. The story behind Chief Keef’s mixtape is actually a quite funny one, so I’ll let FakeShoreDrive elaborate:
My notable tracks would be “I Don’t Know Dem”, “Save That S@%t”, and “3Hunna remix”. Make sure you download this and peep those tracks and always keep it #3HUNNA. Shout to my boy Kilo who showed me Chief Keef. #BangBang!
Dubstep, Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | ZEDS DEAD & Omar LinX – Victor

I have been patiently waiting for this mixtape from ZEDS DEAD and Omar LinX. Omar LinX does a lot of work with ZEDS DEAD, cool to see them team up for a free mixtape of some dubstep and hip-hop blended. The production from ZEDS DEAD is great, infusing 90s samples with their bass-lines. A lot of these tracks you will recognize, Omar goes over top tracks like Coffee Break, Eyes On Fire, Rude Boy, and more favorites. After a few listens I honestly couldn’t pick favorites from this, every track is cool, smooth, and perfect in their own way. Omar kills it over ZEDS DEAD’s great work. Don’t forget this thing is free!

Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Wiz Khalifa – Taylor Allderdice

Finally, after Datpiff got its shit together, here is Wiz Khalifa’s much anticipated mixtape “Taylor Allderdice”, the name of Wiz’s (and Mac Miller) high school. Let me warn you, this mixtape marks a significant shift from the somewhat over-produced radio hits churned out on “Rolling Papers”; it returns to a “Cabin Fever” style with tracks like “My Favorite Song” and “T.A.P.” providing dank unhealthy doses of bass. Producers like Sledgren, Big Jerm, Cardo, I.D. Labs, Jake One and Lex Luger combined with features from fellow Taylor Gang members Chevy Woods & Juicy J and others like Rick Ross and Smoke DZA should get the Wiz haters to chill for minute. Listen to tracks below and download the whole mixtape here. Get ready for Wiz’s upcoming album ‘O.N.I.F.C.’ Hit the jump for the tracklist.

I don’t care who your favorite rapper is. I really don’t. Action Bronson will son him every single time. I’m blown away right now, no homo. I haven’t been this impressed with a mixtape since Drake’s “So Far Gone”. There’s not a bad song on this entire project. Not one. Unbelievable. Get your forks out, this is gourmet rap. Cue the Nick Nolte “Blue Chips” opening scene rant! You should be blogging in your jock straps.
