Future House | Sydney’s Tom Budin Crushes Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again”

Posted by on May 5, 2015

I’m not a fan of the pop-rap crossover “Top 40” nonsense that gets played on the radio. I’m not even a Fast and Furious fan. This “See You Again” record is something else though. It’s so well done and it’s the hit that Wiz Khalifa (and his label) seriously needed. Hits are hard to come by. Sydney’s Tom Budin (pronounced Boo-Din for all you yanks) brings the record to another level, transporting it into a groovy future house banger that I can see myself blacking out to and throwing up in an Uber XL later in the night while driving through Raising Cane’s and ordering five caniac combos. It’s just that good. What’s even better? It’s a free download which should be a crime. I’d buy this remix a million times.

Future House | Yellow Claw Wants to ‘Run Away’ With You

Recognized for their low dropping bass, Yellow Claw tests out a blend of deep percussive combinations and heavy landing vocals to create this late night anthem. ‘Run Away’ is fresh and sets the tone for the direction we can expect the trio to maintain. It’s no surprise these guys have been turning heads for the past 6 months – with quality releases like this chances are things will only look brighter.

Future House | Prince Fox – Wait Until Tomorrow

Prince Fox paved a name for himself in the Future circles as an artist that has perfectly utilized splashy breaks and accelerated drops around slower BPM tones but today he’s released his first solo original and it is unlike anything he’s released in the past. He speeds things up with ‘Wait Until Tomorrow’, capturing the signature deep, hollowed vocal sound familiar with the genre and the rising tropical melody becoming associated with the sound. This track is refreshing – press play, I’m sure you’ll agree.

Shemce returns with a new look, and an even vibier sound with his remix of Major Lazer & DJ Snake’s “Lean On”. Known for his tropical sounds, Shemce integrates himself with subtle future house vibes but nonetheless pushes through something unique. The track starts with an indie dance build that highlights MO’s soulful vocals, eventually leading to a dance floor-crushing future house influenced payoff. Although the track incorporates several future house synths, it still maintains the feel good indie dance vibe Shemce has become known for. Grab this one as a free download.

He’s back. After a hiatus from the interwebs Flume returns with a massive (can’t be understated) reintroduction to the scene he curated. This track is full of teasing beaks, unexpected futuristic bass line drops, and a hazy outro – it literally dives in from every direction. Flume enthusiasts won’t be disappointed by this, rather they’ll be taken down a nostalgic path to original productions by the tastemaker. Scope out http://www.flumemusic.com/ to see if he’s coming to a town near you this summer – he’s not one to be missed.
