Hey everyone, Ben Taft aka FilthyTaft here. As you may have heard, our site (FilthySlaps.com) has just merged with the FNT fam! I’d like to introduce myself to you all with a filthy trap playlist compiled of 7 absolute bangers. Although I am currently obsessed with the trap/moombahton scene, I’ll be covering all sorts of new music, from chill rap to heavy trap bangers. How many artists / producers can count Jay Z, Snoop Dogg and Pharrell as fans? Chase & Status. They just dropped some crazy sounding songs, both respectively different but equally as good. I’m a fan of both.

Usually you won’t catch me posting Justin Bieber, but this Chiefs remix of “All That Matters” is fire. The beats are clean and crisp and sound crazy cool under the chopped Bieber vocals. This is unique, and is a great addition to any chill trap collection. This smooth and excellently produced track is free to download!

The French producer, from Paris, Mercer releases 3 new remixes of his track “Supreme”, by PHAT DEUCE, Juyen Sebulba, and DJ D!rty Aud!o. The PHAT DEUCE remix is probably my favorite of the 3, though all of them are excellent. The synth progression in this record makes you feel like you’re going 90mph in the driver seat of a very expensive car, and once you make it to the drop you know you’ve made it to the party. This track is a must listen and a must download!

Australian native Chu, who was featured on FNT a little while ago, released a five track album called Holidae Holidae. It’s definitely an album you will find yourself getting lost in. The songs are somewhere along the lines of chill trap/electronic. The beats are what make me lean towards trap, but it’s not traditional trap – that’s for sure. My favorite track is “Bucket Hat”. The whole album is free on Bandcamp!

Over the months that I’ve been in San Francisco I had the pleasure of watching as the EP ‘Trap Hippy‘ developed via San Francisco based producer Gorilla Beats. Taking weeks of maticulously working away in the studio / behind a board, brainstorming music concepts, perfecting a mix but still finding time to kick back and enjoy it all in the process, Gorilla beats has the perfect release of 5 smooth instrumentals taking on a new kind of sound – trap hippy. With the distinct undertones of Drum & Bass trap mixed with the ambient electro sounds that have been on the rise in underground music, the final bounce is somewhere between trap and relaxed (trap hippy). I got my in on a little of the fun collabing with Gorilla Beats on one of his songs ‘Wrap’, featured on the EP . During the sesh, I felt where the music was coming from; the whole time we were just chilling and talking music, enjoying company and getting our night started with some drinks to go around – everyone had good vibes, which is what the ep ‘Trap Hippy’ should bring to you.
