The day that Dave Edwards releases originals, is the day the Top 40 charts will never be the same again, because his sound is a hit waiting to happen. A&R’s reading this, mark my words. Having sent over his latest remix of Chris Brown’s “Loyal,” it’s like he brought a beach party to the office, with his buddies Chris Brown and Lil Wayne, and allotment of sexy women. Dave, if you’re reading this, can we party to your music at the clubs in the VIP together? This is the music I like to party to and let loose. This is a must listen and a must download!

Whatt, Slander sent over the dopest Pompeii remix I’ve ever heard! Trust I’m a fan of this song, you can ask the roomies the number of times I’ve had the original on repeat in the shower a good year or 2 ago, and you should’ve seen everyone’s face when they heard it on top 40 radio, I looked less crazy. Now with that said, if I were to hear this remix drop at a festival, I think I might just lose it on a natural high. Slander really took me by surprise with this one, I’m usually skeptical with top 40 remixes, but they did no harm with this one! This is absolutely a must listen and a must download! Also they are touring across the US now, so check out the dates below and make sure you go out and see them.

FNT favorites Alesia dropped the first track off the much anticipated Filet Mignon Volume 2 mixtape presented by Parisian super group Point Point, and it’s a monster! The track will be available for free download on Thursday when the mixtape drops, and having heard the project, I can already tell ya’ll that the music world might not yet be ready for what’s about to happen once it drops. With support from Porter Robinson, Skrillex, DJ Snake, and more, I can guarantee you come Thursday, Filet Mignon is all you’ll be talking about. Wild out, this is the future. This is a must listen and a must download!
Mainstream Remix | The Weeknd – Often (Kygo Remix)
Posted by BIGLIFE on July 28, 2014

I’ve seen a lot of talk lately about Kygo signing to Sony. Some congratulated, some even claimed this was the beginning of the end. It’s incredible to me that fans, or people who claim to be, wouldn’t want to see their favorite artist progress. Fans don’t understand how hard it is to make a living in this music scene. The barriers to entry are higher then they’ve ever been. What Kygo has done is unprecedented, yet fans have this ill-informed notion that Sony is going ruin his brand. Sure, major labels are notorious for messing up an artist’s brand. We’ve seen many artists (sadly) come and go because they signed. Kygo, and his team, are too smart to let that happen. Kygo is going to be just fine.
House, Trance | Weekend Mixes 7/24/14
Posted by Middy on July 24, 2014
I used to these a lot, but life got in the way of me continuing these, but I am back to provide your weekend soundtrack of mixes and sets. Since the weekend starts on Thursdays during the summer (and for many, year-round), I decided to get these to you now so you get going on your way tonight. It will be a mix short on mixes, but high on the quality, highlighted by two from Kristain Nairn, aka Hodor. The Steve Aoki mix is actually kind of dope, there wouldn’t be any cakes thrown to those tunes. Read on for the rest of the mixes.
Trap | Riff Raff – How To Be The Man (Meaux Green Remix)
Posted by Middy on July 24, 2014
It is fitting that a man who wears a copious amount of money on his accessories is remixed by a man who’s name tells the story about his affinity for green. Meaux Green does what he does best, speed this one up with some blaring horns over a tough and punchy bass line. He leaves just enough of Riff Raff for you to get your sage advice on how to be the man, but leaves the room to let his own handiwork shine through. It’s a freebee so get it now.

Electronic, Mainstream Remix, Pop | Melanie Martinez — Dollhouse (One Love Remix)
Posted by jeffwbaird on July 23, 2014
In the not-too-distant past, the production that a rapper could obtain while still positioning themselves as independent artists wasn’t all that important. It was trendy — largely because of Lil Wayne’s Dedication series — for artists to recycle industry beats, and thus they didn’t necessarily need high-quality original production to fuel a career. That tendency has shifted, though, and most successful startups in this market have at least one reliable instrumentalist whose work helps them define their sound. Few, if any, are as gifted and as significant in shaping their overall sound as One Love—best-known as the production half of Kinetics & One Love.
Since K&1L’s critically acclaimed You Are Not Alone released in 2012, One Love has produced for a number of Atlantic Records’ talents, including Neon Hitch and—most recently—Melanie Martinez. Today he’s released his first official remix, to Melanie Martinez’s new single, “Dollhouse”—a song he originally produced as well. While the primary version has accrued over two million views on YouTube already, One Love has utilized the strengths of Melanie’s vocals and reconstructed the darker-themed beat into a summer smash. The increased BPM, coruscating synths, and added melodic qualities of the production entirely change the listening experience, while retaining the meaning of its original. Check out the track below, and follow One Love using the links below.
