Drum & Bass | Annie Mac Unveils New Single From Exciting New Collaborative Group, With You.
Posted by Tay on June 9, 2015
The mysterious producer, With You., has remained nameless and faceless since he made his debut last month with remixes of Beyonce’s “Partition” and Spank Rock’s “Gully.” After briefly surfacing to deliver the two masterful efforts, the cryptic producer has come through once again, but it turns out that With You. is actually a brand new collaborative group featuring Rick Trainor, Jeff Penalva, Noah Schy, Daouda Leonard, and Dave Taylor (Switch, formerly of Major Lazer), and they are ready to deliver their inaugural EP, Speak, on Hypercolour later this month. Last week, BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac premiered the official remix of the EP’s name track, “Speak,” by the UK drum & bass trio, 2 Bad Mice, giving the world its first glimpse at the first original by With You. 2 Bad Mice give the remix their signature drum & bass flair, quickening the pace and turning it into a breakbeat masterpiece. Speak is out on June 29th via Hypercolour.

Hitimpulse did work on Xavier Dunn’s “No Type” cover, going chill trap with it, for a laidback, sip your drink by the pool experience. We came across Xavier with his “Fucking Problem” cover, and with the release of this remix, you know Mr Dunn means business, getting the German producer to remix is no small feat, given the man just landed nearly 20,000,000 plays on his remix of Ed Sheeran’s “Coco,” could Xavier be the land down under’s Ed Sheeran? Sure seems like it! This is a must listen and a must download!

Bootleg | SomeKindaWonderful Gives Ratatat’s “Cream on Chrome” a Vocal Twist from “The Problematics”

I’ve been a fan of SomeKindaWonderful since their debut single, “Reverse,” off of their first studio album, SomeKindaWonderful. The Cleveland-based rock band has been on a steady rise to stardom, as their unique fusion of electronic music with live elements of a rock band is hard to find in dance music. Today, they’ve teamed up with fellow electronic rockers, Ratatat, for a mashup of their unreleased track, “The Problematics,” with Ratatat’s new single, “Cream on Chrome” that will blow you away. Ratatat’s electro-rock production provides the perfect canvas for vocalist Jordy Towers’ alluring croons. Plain and simple, this track is some kinda wonderful. Stream the mashup above, and get your free download here.
