Out now on French imprint Yunzion Records, “Bruises” by Mangus Bechmann may be the best song I’ve heard in the past couple of months. I’m on my fifth listen through as we speak, and still picking up on beautiful new sounds and textures that I hadn’t caught onto yet. The song mixes elements of indie rock and EDM, sort of similar to the likes of MGMT, but with a less psychedelic approach and a bigger pop influence. Bechmann’s music is a breathe of fresh air and I cannot get enough of it, stream “Bruises” above now!

Icon collective artists PhilZen has dropped “Need You,” his next single in a string of releases in the last six months. The tweaks and accents PhilZen added onto future bass puts the genre is bolder, harder hitting arena. The heaviness feel mixed with future bass is the highlight with this one, paired with vocal samples that pop in-and-out at just the right time. PhilZen shows no rate of slowing down in 2017.
The Cali-based artist is keeping himself plenty busy this year, word on the street is, even more, is in the works.
