Dubstep | Underworld – Rez (Bassnectar Remix)

bassnectar rez

Did I tell you that this was an awesome week for releases, or did I tell you that this was an awesome week for releases? Add Lorin Ashton to the varsity roster of artists dropping bombs between February 11th and 15th. If you haven’t already taken his spacey, heady reboot of the tech-trance mindmelt that is “Rez” for a spin or two or twenty, now is the time to redeem yourself. Listening to this song is probably as close as we’re currently able to get to knowing what it’s like to be sucked through a wormhole. If that doesn’t sway you, this should: you know a track is something serious when Bassnectar uses it to usher in 2013 from the helm of a 360-degree LED pod (see above). “Rez” is out now on US iTunes and vinyl, if you’re into that, via Child’s Play Records.

Dubstep | OSCILLATOR Z – TICKER

Posted by on February 11, 2013

Clock King, OSCILLATOR Z - TICKEROscillator Z has been releasing so much free fire for weeks now, the number of tracks I like from him have tripled in my library. This is one nasty Drumstep original, he uses a lot of signature sounds we know from Figure and also some sharp bass sounds from filth monger Getter. This track reminds me of one of Batman’s villains, the Clock King (photo above). Tick tock, it’s time for bass.

Dubstep | R-Rated #63

Posted by on February 7, 2013

F3tch is not a highly known artist for most people, but take my word he is no amateur. Coming off of a EP release just a few months back he is still continuing on with the dark, heavy vibes that gave off through that EP. This freebie has a great use of samples and stays true to his dark style. Grab the free download HERE.

Jphelpz is another artist that stays true to the dark style of dubstep as well, and also just had a new EP released. This guy cranks out tunes like crazy, so if you are into his style I would suggest giving him a follow because he has plenty of tunes out and plenty on the way.

Oscillator Z  has made a few appearances on R rated before, but he has been MIA for a while. It seems as though he was feeling very generous this week because he gay away two crazy bootlegs. The first is of Downlink – Gamma Ray Burst and the second is of Genetix – Squid Attack.

Dubstep, Preview | Detzky – I Like Cereal

Posted by on February 3, 2013

Detsky - I Like CerealI love all the Cartoon Network samples used in this track, brings me back to the days of watching Dexters Lab, Johnny Bravo, and of course  Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends. I’m sure Detzky had a lot of fun using these samples. The track is a Dubplate, which means the chance of it ever release is very slim, but it is still worth a listen for the nostalgia.

Dubstep | Dead Can Dance – The Host Of Seraphim (ENiGMA Dubz Mix)

Dead Can Dance - The Host Of Seraphim (ENiGMA Dubz Mix)

This is a killer tune from ENiGA Dubz in celebration of hitting 10k fans on Facebook. I highly recommend good speakers or headphones because anything else just doesn’t do it justice. The vocals and bass tell an amazing story together, taking the meaning of Deep Dubstep to a whole other level.

Dubstep | R Rated #62

Posted by on January 31, 2013

R Rated #62This week brings one of the heaviest R Rated posts we have had in a while. Luck of the draw for this weeks filthy tunes. Starting off this week is one of the heaviest things I have heard from Poseidon, which says a lot considering it’s his forte. At the same time this is the best Lord of the Rings themed original. Enjoy.

Next is this sick preview from JPhelpz off his upcoming EP, “Termination.” The bass on this track is unbelievable, if was any harder we would be deaf now.

The drop on this new release from Rogue has almost a funk filth vibe to it. I know some will see the correlation to Skrillex on this drop style, but it is still an awesome track. Get bent haters.

Speaking of Skrillex, this remix was a sweet find. Skrillex’s newest EP was bad, but then again it wasn’t all that great either. If this remix from Caden Jester was featured on the EP it would have been great. This remix owns face.

Dubstep, Electro-House, Moombahton, Review | KillSonik – Where The River Runs Black EP

Posted by on January 30, 2013

KillSonik - Where The River Runs Black EP

I literally could not wait for the release of this EP. KillSonik has done nothing but blow my mind on what type of artists they are to be known as. The duo kicked off the EP with a filthy Moombahton track, “Where The River Runs Black.” I never would have guessed that they would drop in a moombahcore track, let alone end up loving it. The first Dubstep track “Walrus” has had my mind going in spins the past few days. I enjoy the mellow intro that breaks into spooky synths, building up to an epic drop that I will forever relate to the mighty Walrus haha. “Slaughterhouse” is by far my favorite track of the EP. It is everything I hoped to hear from KillSonik in terms of a Dubstep track. Close behind in second though, “Je Te Veux” turned out to be the best surprise. When I found out the track was Electro-House, I was instantly excited to listen. To my enjoyment, this track owns face. Every expectation I have had over the past few months building my impatience was every bit worth the wait. KillSonik delivered.
