Bass, Chill, Trap | Electric Mantis Kills It On “Daybreak”

Posted by on March 1, 2016

Majestic Casual is one of the most looked at Youtube channels known to music for the past couple of years, and their quite a taste maker co-sign if they upload your music so it only made sense they moved onto bigger things. Majestic Color is the newly started record label by the MC team and last week they came out with the first piece of music on the imprint, “Daybreak” by Electric Mantis and it was astonishing. With their not even being a lead vocalist on the song, the record still captures your attention in full form until it’s end, due to the change of pace and vibe over the course of “Daybreak”. Electric Mantis is going to really blow up this year, I’m calling it now.

Bass, House | Matroda Lights It Up On “Chronic”

Posted by on February 29, 2016

This one goes hard as hell. Matroda is a new guy on my map, but his track “Chronic” that dropped on Spinnin’ the other day was quite an introduction. The bass fueled g-house banger has an eerie lead vocal sample that is captivating and creepy at the same time, and the bass line is as brainwashing as the music video. Check out the visuals and audio for “Chronic” by Matroda, you won’t be able to blink.

Bass, Future Funk | Kaptain Reveals Last Single Off His Anticipated EP

If you’ve been following us over the past month, you may have come across an act by the name of Kaptain. This San Francisco creator dished out two singles leading up to the release of his full When The Sky Shimmers EP that dropped yesterday. We shared with you both “When The Sky Shimmers,” and “Testament” which blew me away, and now “Every Day of the Week” is here. Kaptain keeps his funky style intact, however he leans much more on the future sound in his production. Wavering synth work is matched with funky guitar and thick basses. It’s the perfect mix of a whole lot of things, and the wait was certainly worth the hype. Kaptain has been dominating playlists lately, which should come as no surprise. This dude has some real talent.

Norway’s next star, Jerry Folk, has been on a steady, yet slow-burning ascent as he’s released several chart-topping tracks. Last year, he brought us his remix of Years & Years’ “Desire,” an original “Futura,” a hit remix of Oh Wonder’s “Lose It,” which racked up 13 million+ plays on SoundCloud alone, and more. Jerry didn’t waste any time in getting back on the release train with “To My Soul” last month, and he’s continuing to impress with another original, “You Know,” that he created with ELOQ during a visit in LA. This newest number is a future bass gem that a testament to both Jerry and ELOQ’s versatility in the studio.
