Now, it’s not Summer quite yet, but with festival season and Coachella here, EDM fans are living it up as though Summer has started. With so much music coming out, and set to release, it’s hard to pick and choose what tracks really stand out. Unless you are Dabin and Koven who delivered what could be one of the top tracks we here throughout the next several months from DJs all over the world. “Revenant” is their masterpiece that juxtaposes memorable melodies with some headbanging bass between drops. There’s a lot of insane records that are put out by Kannibalen Records and from Dabin in particular, but this is up there as one of the special ones. The match-up between Dabin and Koven was a perfect pairing, and I hope to see them do something again in the future. For now, stream or buy “Revenant.”

Bass | Markus Cole Gives “Runnin’ (Lose It All)” A Fresh Pop Remix Feeling

Posted by on April 12, 2016

This one hits your right in the feels.

Markus Cole has been around for a bit, landing on numerous blogs and locking down spots on notable mainstage DJ’s podcasts/radioshows. But it’s “Naughty Boy – Runnin’ (Lose It All) Ft. Beyoncé, Arrow Benjamin (Markus Cole Remix)” and another track track he released a month ago that are attention grabbers. The former will be the focus here.

From the very start “Runnin’ (Lose It All) (Markus Cole Remix)” brings the listener to a relaxed state via the familiar voice and lyrics. The added production from Markus is noticed and enhances/refreshes the experience overall. It’s not until the drop that you get hit with this “woah” moment behind your computer screen. The rattling, roaring bassline is fresh, but fitting compared to the entirety of the remix – which is catchy in itself.

This is one not to be missed.

Bass | Koinu’s #SHIBESQUAD Brings Barking and Bass Together Like Never Before

This has to be on of the heaviest Koinu songs he’s dropped to date. Koinu, who’s other alias is Varien. has been continuously releasing bass music with various trending themes built in, along side original artwork that all fits within a similar spectrum and color scheme.

Beware, this track includes vocals from dogs and encourages their kind, this challenges the very fabric the internet is based on. Love of cats.

The combination of hilarious vocal samples and ground-shaking bass will make your day. Dive deeper into what Koinu has to offer, he has several recently released sounds that create colorful experience.

Bass | Sigma Brings Out Majestic For “Lighters”

Majestic does it all, and when he’s not behind the decks, he’s in the booth dropping ill riddims and rhymes, but you might already know that, as it’s his voice on the Skrillex x Damian Marley track “Make It Bun Dem.” This time it’s UK DnB producers Sigma, who came on our radar with their release of “Bound 2,” that makes use of Majestic’s flow for a sick rave anthem “Lighters.” If you’re feeling it, throw your lighters up, the UK knows how to go hard. Grab this tune, it’s a must listen!

Bass | Koinu Keeps The Trap & Bass Coming With “IceIce” Remix

Posted by on March 29, 2016

Koinu is Varien, one of Monstercat biggest, baddest, and most unique artists. Hes started a new side project called Koinu which features modern dressed anime girls posing, dope ass bass music, videos – an overall experience.

Before I dive in, I want to know, htf does Koinu do that with his font/text? There’s no program/app that forces his font to conform to other fonts no matter what it seems, Koinu makes everyone else’s code conform to his font..crazy.

Anyway, back to the music. The best way Koinu can be described is a blend of the trap-dubstep sound that is being thrown around these days and eastern culture. Nick has always been good at creating worlds, it looks as if he is doing it again.

Bass, Future House | Apashe Furthers His Rise To The Top With “Skeleton Dance”

Apashe has long been one of the most unique artists in the electronic dance music scene. He’s been known for his hybrid trap style, taking from hip-hop, dubstep and even classical, and mashing them all into one. Lately, he’s been fusing house and breakbeat styles with his already one-of-a-kind sound to create some immense party jams that aren’t in cut time. However, he does throw some trap breaks in, as he does with “Skeleton Dance,” his latest song on Kannibalen Records. “Skeleton Dance” features Canadian vocalist LENA. Together these two bring an anthem to the table that is set to rock the many upcoming Summer festivals. One thing that always sticks out to me in his productions are his sounds. In this one, you get some vicious basses and synths that aren’t like anything you’ve heard before. Check out the track and head over to the link below to get a copy!

This one really goes in! Danon is an upstate NY based producer who merges together hip-hop and electronic music to create a beautifully bouncy sound. On his latest, “Candyflippin in Chitown” he enlists a group of upcoming rappers who are all making moves in their respective lanes, for a sick collaboration. This is the perfect track to get your day started with, so get those earbuds in and turn it up! Enjoy.
