Bass | Sean Turk’s “Be Like You” Remix Gives Us All The Feels

Posted by on May 1, 2017

Sean Turk is the man. The guy sent a thank you card + Sean Turk stickers to FreshNewTracks.com HQ a few weeks back. Very few artists take the time to do that, which is why Sean is currently killing it. His “Be Like You” remix was playlisted on Spotify, and for good reason. He transforms the original (which is a banger) into that signature bedroom bass sound we all know and love him for. Tune and turn up. Sean Turk is back with a ripper.

Bass | Zebulon Releases Bass Heavy Single “Take Us There”

Posted by on April 27, 2017

Coming from San Clemente, California this talented producer by the name of Zebulon is here to bring us his new banger. If you’re into beautifully orchestrated melodies paired with grinding bass growls and hard hitting subs than look no further. Zebulon brings us “Take Us There” which is out now on Drop The Bassline. Drop The Bassline has been making waves over the past couple of years with their consistent releases of quality music and Zebulon fits the bill.

“Take Us There” incorporates beautifully mastered melodies with a hint of trance in it that eventually builds into a bass heavy tune. The percussion and vocal chop elements are a unique touch to an already stellar production. Only being on the scene for a year Zebulon has amassed a solid following and looks like he’s not stopping any time soon with his signature sound.

Bass | Mory’s Dynamic “MenloBucks” Brings Together Glitch And Future Bass

Posted by on April 19, 2017

Genre hybrids are nothing new in dance music, but new hybrids certainly are. Most aren’t committed enough to take on a such a creative task, but the result Mory has tapped into showcases the benefits of doing so. “MenloBucks” the latest single from Mory, is a hyper-detailed, experimental single fusing the genres of glitch-hop and future bass, showcasing a new style and feeling that is refreshing, to say the least.

Mory’s “MenloBucks” was released on Neocore Records, a label just getting their start, yet displaying a solid selection on the A&R front, thus far. Mory and Neocore Records are not only rising together, but showing strong promise.

Bass | Jack Squire & Katnip Release Melodic Bass Single “Imma”

Posted by on April 17, 2017

Los Angeles Producer Jack Squire has been on a roll lately with multiple releases over the past months. But today he is back with another gut-wrenching record. The new track featuring another Los Angeles producer Katnip features amazing melodies arranged to create a dark and playful atmosphere while the build up becomes more and more sinister, then when the drop hits, it hits you right in the chest. From previously supported tracks by Far Too Loud, James Egbert and Apek he is well on his way to becoming a bass music figure. “Imma” features everyone’s favorite dubstep elements from fast-paced arps to downright dirty growls. The drums hit hard and the consistency of the track is like none other.

With each release, he becomes better and better, and thanks to his education at the world-renowned Icon Collective School, he has the proper production and arrangement skills needed to take it to the next level. “Imma” is available to stream on Spotify, Soundcloud and a few others. If you’re a fan of Getter, Phaseone, or Spock then you’ll love Jack Squire’s new track “Imma.”

Bass, Trap | LO-Def Follows Up Dim Mak Remix With “It’s On”

Posted by on April 15, 2017

Based in Garden Grove, you may have seen LO-DEF around on the internet via his official Dim Mak remix of “Devil’s Lettuce” by Bro Safari and ETC!ETC!. He’s now returned with his first single of the year, an original called “It’s On.” The release has all the makings that listeners got a taste of in the Dim Mak remix, but with a fresh core elements newly introduced.

The core of “It’s On” is certainly it’s hard, trap and bass feel. Pulsating, rhythmic percussion layer on top of dark, almost-spooky vibes found within this track that would undoubtably go off in the club. Gaining traction and getting noticed as an artist is, in part, about locking down credible achievements – Lo-Def is skipping ahead of his colleagues via strong productions, partnering with notable labels, and on-point branding.

Bass | Prismatic Releases New “Marathon” EP On MA Music

Posted by on April 15, 2017

Primsatic, based out of Maryland, has dropped Marathon EP packed full of empowering melodic bass tracks. John Schmulowitz whose stage name is Prismatic, is well loved by bassheads around the world. The first track on this EP is “Marathon,” which starts the experience off strong, but my favorite track is the third single “Empathy.” Love the euphoric intro and the smooth transition into the rest of the song. The 4th track “Droid,” which taps on a sweet spot, especially the second half where the composition of the beats are outstanding and refreshing.

If you dig a little deeper, you will find other gems (uplifting, euphoric dubstep tracks) which are similar in feel, but each have unique drops that take you there. Some particular songs are completely out of this world and will make you fall in love with dubstep all over again. If you aren’t satisfied with what you find, check him out at Flower of Life festival May 18-21, 2017.
