As a brother duo, their style is multi-dimensional and typically falls on the heavier side of bass and house. Remixing the classic “Doo Wop” by Lauren Hill, AYOO once again highlights their versatility by throwing together multiple sub-genres in a single release on this one. The tune is stitched together in a fitting and organic manner, making it easy and inviting to throw down. The Giant EP marks the return of the solo DJ/producer Bellorum onto Barong Family. Kaskade’s hit collaboration with Ilsey “Disarm You” has seen a decent amount of remixes since its release in 2015. There have been some I’ve liked, some I didn’t and some I’ve loved. Today I’ve added another one to the love column thanks to HVDES flip. The bass queen has put her own dark spin on the single and released it as a free download. It’s very much her style, but it’s a little lighter, more atmospheric to change up the pace a bit from her other records. She’s got a big year ahead of her and this is just the start!

“Dimensions” is a riveting single from the collaborative efforts of two forces, Focus Fire and Similar Outskirts. Contrary to the punishing and dominating nature of Focus Fire’s previous release “Spire,” “Dimensions” somewhat flows in a lighter arena, showcasing electro influence alongside a video-game music style. In the end, the single slaps, with plenty of quality moments built in.
Focus Fire, a duo known for their diverse tracks but also bass-heavy, satisfying live performances, aren’t slowing down anytime soon. With “Dimensions” being their second release this month and more events surely in the works, this duo is fast rising and one to watch out for. Similar Outskirts pairs up nicely with FF, their styles melding together and making the release a natural fit. One should expect more content from both acts in the coming weeks.
