Alternative, Pop | Conal Kelly Drops”Control”
Posted by VMan on December 6, 2020
Bristol, UK based Conal Kelly releases his new track, “Control.” With shimmering synths, dynamic percussion and a grooving bass providing an already irresistible soundscape, the song grows even more magnetic on its outro. Conal is a new name to me but I was blown away by this new single. Check out “Control” above now and read a quote from Mr. Kelly below now!
“The writing/recording of this song was the most I have ever consciously pushed myself out of my comfort zone… it can sometimes be easy to find yourself a little boxed in when you’re writing and recording/mixing every part of a track, but this was my most determined attempt to break away from the habits I’d formed. The whole thing took a couple of months to complete, but the finished track is something I’m really proud of and can hopefully show some diversity in my songwriting! The vocal part really drives the song in my opinion…this is also the first time an outro has been my favourite aspect of a song I’ve written, I love that ending vocal hook.” – Conal Kelly
Alternative, Pop | YASSIN’s Drops Uplifting Track “Take My Time”
Posted by VMan on December 2, 2020
Toronto-based singer, songwriter and producer YASSiN is back with a warm tune via his uplifting new offering “Take My Time”. Collaborating with Sean Terrio for the release, ‘Take My Time’ sees the artist deliver a wonderfully fresh and vibrant new release. Channeling a rich and diverse aesthetic, which sees him borrow from the worlds of indie-pop, soul, and classic disco, his newest delight will firmly fix a smile to your face from start to finish. Listen and watch the visual above now and read a quote from YASSiN on the release below now.
“Take My Time was written in the early months of quarantine, on a dark rainy day. I wrote this song as an escape from the circumstances of the world. It is a love song that embodies the pure joy of being with someone you love. It has a hint of silliness to it. It is a dreamers song about forgetting the complications of the world and feeling free with your partner. I say at the beginning of the track “Maybe stand a little closer” Which is something I hope people do when they dance to this one. It’s also me dreaming of the day where we don’t have to be 6 feet apart from each other. This song to me is about true love that you’d spend a life waiting for, hope that gets you up and has you moving forward even in bleak days, and pure ridiculous fun.” – YASSiN
Alternative, Pop | Mokita & Mike Kinsella Collaborate for “Sleepwalking”
Posted by VMan on December 1, 2020
“Sleepwalking” by Mokita and Mike Kinsella (of the cult followed, indie rock band American Football) is a hybrid new release by the two that blends elements of emo / acoustic rock and indie pop with a minor electronic influence. The hybrid collaboration is a beautifully sad sounding song that once again shows off Mokita’s skill-set as a songwriter and creator. The more music this underdog drops, the more tuned in I get! Alternative, Pop | Gavin Haley Opens Up on ‘Unfolding’ EP
Posted by VMan on November 25, 2020
Emerging singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gavin Haley released his brand new EP Unfolding via Red Bull Records. The rising star has stayed busy throughout 2020, releasing a slew of new songs including a remix from legendary drummer Travis Barker for his hit “Tati” featuring Yung Pinch. Haley has been praised by People Magazine as one of their 20 “Emerging Artists making their mark in music,” and Flaunt Magazine who hailed his “irresistible sound,” adding, “the cathartic anthem… serves as another look into Gavin’s escalating career. “The Unfolding EP is me being more vulnerable with everyone. The idea for this project was to shine a light on the things I had yet to share with the world in my writing. In my past songs, a lot of times I’m singing of relationship turmoil, but I’ve never really gone into what could have caused a lot of those issues. Unfolding is a series of growing pains through music,” says Haley. “Sonically, I feel this is the most authentic music I’ve made. I grew up in church, but I also raced bikes and listened to rap music when I could hide it from my family. I feel like I brought elements to this music from every area I’ve drawn inspiration from, but still staying me. Each song is its own story, and I hope this project connects with the people who find it and brings us closer. I wrote Unfolding almost entirely in a few days.”

Get familiar with these guys, they’ve got a great sound going for them! Speaking about the new single, Grady said, “The song is about a fleeting addiction that hooks you on the first taste. Alternative | Nghtfall is “Alone”
Posted by VMan on November 22, 2020
Loving the pop punk influence through out “Alone” by Nghtfall. The emerging singer/songwriter is based in Canada and steps to his own beat. Channeling the bold style and sound direction of The 1975, “Alone” sees the artist deliver one of their most euphoric releases to date. Check out a quote from ghim on the release below, and listen to “Alone” by Nghtfall above now!
This song is about the struggle of being attracted to someone during quarantine and not being able to act on it. The sonic inspirations came from listening to old pop-punk from my childhood like Fall Out Boy, as well as newer artists like The 1975 and Phoebe Bridges.”
