Posted by W8 on January 19, 2012
EDIT: Video now added.
Moving throughout the day, caught in a distraction anywhere but here, finally you reach that moment in this track. Alan’s Right is off Terence Ryan’s upcoming EP entitled – Skeleton. There’s the kind of Hip Hop you like, and there’s the kind of Hip Hop you love. If you know me, you know I love this.

Preview, Progressive House | Cherry Coke & Alex, Audible, Chris Wittig, Jay Cosmic & Tjernberg
Posted by W8 on January 17, 2012
Teaser above from Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike & Regi called Momentum is set to release February 14th, be ready for that. So below, Never 2012 sounds similar to Avicii’s Never Enough with eccentric vocals complimenting a progressive trance like explosion of monumental happiness. I’d expect 2012 to be quite the year for Cherry Coke given his exalting ear for music, let’s wait and see what happens next.

Summit is a track that’s been stored in my archive for quite some time now and always cheers me up. Expect a really nice remix of this track coming soon. Get it on Beatport.

I got this track the moment it reached Beatport, and honestly didn’t think too much about it. After observing the positive response it now has, why not. Chris Wittig’s take on It’s Alright features a soothing synth with that glitched idea Alesso first coined in his remix of Pressure. Get it on Beaport.

Tjernberg and Jay Cosmic are both under the age of 18. I’m fascinated by these young producers and their talent thus far excites me!

Preview, Progressive House | Alesso, Walden, Inpetto & D’Anconia

Alesso with another one of his many ID’s still not yet released is sounding epic. I had the opportunity to see Avicii and Alesso at separate times in the same venue and Alesso was by far my favorite, his transitioning between tracks was stellar, never dropped the energy of the crowd, and catered a variety of new material. It leaves me wondering what exactly is Avicii doing, I would pay to see him take some time off touring and get back in the studio. Now occasionally there comes a time when tracks tend to accumulate in mass like we have here below, all three are worth your time and would be impossible to place in any particular order, give them all a try, and lastly – NLN deserves huge credit for this post.
Brightness is candy to my ears. I spent a while trying to remember what the drop sounded like, its a toy I used to play with as a kid. A tube with a ball that would go to either side and make a cool noise haha, any remembrance?. Anyways – Get it on Beatport.
Walden – Brightness (Original Mix)
No More Serious Faces I’d say does just that, A great sounding reason to be happy. Get it on Beatport.
Inpetto – No More Serious Faces (Original Mix)
Elodie is a calm rage, definitely the best of both worlds.
D’Anconia – Elodie (Original Mix)
Dubstep, Electro | Kredo – Reach The End
Posted by W8 on January 11, 2012
Philipp Gerber, better known as Kredo is coming out of Switzerland with a heavy, yet tolerable dubstep/electro track entitled Reach The End, featuring haunted vocals followed by an insane drop that compliments the feeling. Kredo began with a variety of genres to later find his niche in electro and dubstep, after playing the piano for more than 14 years he spent the last few years experimenting with drum machines and synths that developed into a love for computer based music production altogether. It’s not everyday, if ever I get to compete with Mach and Sev’s R Rated dubstep although now, it’s a different story.

Compilation | W8’s Top 11 of 2011
Posted by W8 on January 9, 2012
Obviously there’s a ton of tracks that should’ve made this list having it not been for just 11 tracks. It’s very unlikely a track would ever reach my collection if it couldn’t find a place on here. The electoral process was decided by the tracks I felt didn’t get the proper recognition, that being said I intentionally left some out because why bother adding tracks I posted a few days ago (like this, that & the third) for that reason they aren’t present on this compilation. Anyways, enjoy!
11. Medina – Addiction (Alexander Adstedt Remix) : A memorable record of the year, didn’t get the recognition it deserved so why not.
10. Spor – Pacifica (Chasing Shadows Remix) : The kind of dubstep you spend an eternity trying to find.
9. Cities Aviv – Float On : My kind of Hip Hop, a solid straight through verse filled with notable poetry.
8. Sander van Doorn & Adrian Lux – Eagles (Omar Andino & Kelvin Beat Remix) : A progressive house gem.
7. Benny Benassi – Come Fly Away (Dash Total’D Remix) : If there was ever a need to define a gem this would be it.
6. EmB – Night Drive : EmB is a firm reminder of Hip Hop’s potential.
5. Christoph Andersson – Tuxedo : From the moment you click play, you know it’s ready to make a dance floor out of anywhere.
4. Ndeluv – The Love Song : I don’t usually hear R&B portrayed with such a cold beat, one of my favorites.
3. Dinka feat. Hadley & Danny Inzerillo – Reach For Me (Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman Remix) : I’d say the most overlooked progressive track of ’11 would be this, get ittttt!
2. Altimeter – Astronought : It’s usually the chill records that have the longest lasting effect. There’s an incredible story behind this track and the reason for why Altimeter produced music. Unfortunately he’s calling it a day and retiring from production so consider this special.
1. Lapalux – Time Spike Jamz : First place may come as a surprise to a few, it’s been my favorite record for the better part of the year. Why you may ask – artists like Lapalux grab inspiration from absolutely nowhere and that makes for originality I admire. It’s my favorite track of the year because prior to hearing it, I never heard anything else like it.
Progressive House | DJ Kuba & NE!TAN feat. Anna Montgomety – Take It To The Top (Cherry Coke ‘Levels’ Remix)

Crushing this record live is my reason for being a few days late – Get ittttt!
