Progressive House | Jus Jack & Oza, Paki & Jaro, Dino Roc & Chris Jones, Alate, Jakob Liedholm
Posted by W8 on April 27, 2012
Friday is now upon us and with that said comes an abundance of progressive house refreshments. Cheery sounds of happiness that shall bring your heart rate to unforetold levels of exctasy this weekend, and later inspire you to regain the little memory you still have left. I would also like to mention that additional time went into this post to make sure all the tracks were free of charge, not something you see everyday in this shark infested ocean of money hungry producers. First on the list is Jus Jack and Oza’s remix of Without You, definitely the standout record of the bunch, try it and continue after the jump.

Dubstep | Deadmau5 – Aural Psynapse (Mr FijiWiji Remix)
Posted by W8 on April 8, 2012
I discovered Mr FijiWiji a few months ago and knew from the start he’s set out to make gems and that only. Hailing from Pittsburgh, this 16 year old independent producer has successfully amalgamated dubstep and chillstep together in perfect parallel. His take on Aural Psynapse is not mellow enough to be chillstep, and not schizophrenically insane enough to be dubstep. Records like this represent musical frisson that illustrates longevity and not just some track you’re going to skip over and forget in days.
Indie | W8’s Indie Pack #3
Posted by W8 on April 5, 2012
Summer is the time to let go and splash your mind full of new and refreshing memories. All you have to worry about is making the best ones possible. That’s not too hard, all we know how to do at the end of the day is have a good time, and summer is just one long weekend set on achieving that. Indie music in summer is like a gorgeous woman on the beach with her over-sized sunglasses, and sand filled flip flops acting as if her bikini isn’t the equivalent of seductive lingerie, it just doesn’t get any better. Spending all day in your bathing suit, and all night looking for it. That is what indie exemplifies for me. So whether you are listening to waves crash up on the beach, having a bonfire with friends, or just soaking up the sun … always remember, that when time disappears and there’s no place you’d rather be … that is when memories are made. I’m simply here to lay out the soundtrack to that experience.
What’s best about indie is that it disqualifies overly drunk idiots from the party. So turn the music up and keep the drama down. My favorite indie compilation thus far. If you need more then be sure to check the previous playlists if you haven’t already done so. I’m good for all these tracks so you need not pass on any.

Indie, Pop | KO KO – Float
Posted by W8 on March 28, 2012
My goodness, Float is the essence of refreshment. KO KO is a band based out of Los Angeles that is comprised of brothers Ryan and Taylor Lawhorn, they define their sound as having never experienced winter, accurately said given this cheery melody that practically inhales and exhales beautiful weather. They started this project in January 2012 and it’s clear, they are here to remain in the ears of many. The imagery of their sound is a cool and breezy daydream that encapsulates summer vibes all the way through. A breath of fresh air with an ocean in your backyard.

Dubstep, Trance | Fracx – Serenity (Original Mix)
Posted by W8 on March 23, 2012
You should know, I’m always all days about these gems. Serenity does indeed define one. Fantastic and unique, this soft-core progressive trance like dubstep production is a vibrant explosion of genre that makes for an abundance of alleviating noises. I’d also mention that Fracx is only 17 years young and in saying that is quite the privilege to be immersed in his sonic vocabulary for that age. Young producers such as Fracx make growing up feel optional, they continue to gather more experience in less time when the days are short and the years are long, each new generation adding more color than the previous could dream of, nevertheless – humbles me.

Dubstep | Florence And The Machine – Cosmic Love (Seven Lions Remix)
Posted by W8 on March 19, 2012
Seven Lions releases an excellent take on Cosmic Love, and is about to embark on his first-ever tour supporting his fellow young dub-superstars Gemini, Koan Sound, and Bassex if you happen to be residing in sunny California on one of these dates.
Electronic, RnB | CAVES – Lost 4 Ever
Posted by W8 on March 9, 2012
Not much is to be found on Caves, the producer of this record besides the fact that Lost 4 Ever samples from Ray J’s track – One Wish. Whatever the case may be, you can be rest assured that you’re dealing with some sizzling ear candy.
