Hip-Hop | Iroc Mics & Tonio – T.W.A (Till We Arrive) [Prod by Potillo]
Posted by W8 on January 15, 2013
“Hard to be real when you can’t tell the difference.”
The latest from Texas duo, Tonio and Iroc Mics embodies a delightful blend of flavors that really hits home. Potillo underlies it with a smooth tempo, late Kanye-esq style beat that compliments the lyrics perfectly. I’ve been missing this hip-hop for a long time!

Chill, Compilation, Dubstep | W8’s Top 12 of 2012
Posted by W8 on January 8, 2013
This image above accurately depicts my hiearchy of diversified beats for ’12. Call me weird, but I like to hear tracks as though they’re alive… as if a monster is trying to express itself through sound. This has the most chilling effect, and all these have that. Honourable mentions go to an abundance of EDM tunes that don’t appear on the list. I am forever indebted to that insane energy; no other genre can comprehend, but for now let’s have some alternative listens.
House, Indie | Daughter – Youth (Alle Farben Remix)
Posted by W8 on December 31, 2012
As the year becomes nostalgic we are left with a beautiful piece of downtempo magic from Alle Farben. A tropical sounding gem that’s flavored with raw emotion. I’ll go about co-signing this.
Electronic | Ultraista – Gold Dayzz (Maribou State Remix)
Posted by W8 on December 28, 2012
Usually by the time I realize a track has lasting relevancy it’s already too late for that post. This one’s been a favorite of mine over the last month, and Maribou State recently making it a free download adds that extra pleasantry now resulting in one. See guys, we live in a timesndsagldssl. Yeah, I won’t even try and bore you with another facade of philosophical ranting. Although I will say… it is quite a fascinating thing how tracks can sometimes be more accurate than a news article on daily events can ever be.
Progressive House | Imagine Dragons – It’s Time (Plastic People Remix)
Posted by W8 on December 11, 2012
Plastic People unveils a progressive treatment on It’s Time, gift-wrapping it with an ever more voluptuous energy that only progressive house can provide. Instrumentally this track could eerily be considered a Speed Of Sound remix by Coldplay. All great things.

Dubstep, Electronic | Kastle – Stay Forever (Tour VIP Remix)
Posted by W8 on November 21, 2012
I can’t recall a time that I ever legitimately considered co-signing an artist 100% until now. Kastle is literally a gem onto himself. Forget about an individual track that stands alone, this man’s entire catalogue is just rinsed with gems. A plentiful quantity that happens to be all quality. I would highly recommend you head over to his Soundcloud and bathe in this absuuurd treasure trove. Can’t believe I slept on Kastle, forgive me.
Hip-Hop | Kendrick Lamar – Swimming Pools (Bird Peterson Remix)

You’ll never be younger than you are at this very moment listening to Bird Peterson splash new waves all in and throughout Swimming Pools. Breakfast at midnight, whatever. Let’s do it.
