Hip-Hop, RnB | Trey Palms – I Hate You
Posted by admin on July 12, 2013
I’ve been following Trey Palms for quite some time now, and his most recent song “I Hate You” is without a doubt some of his best work to date. Seeing as I have a slight predisposition for melodic, R&B tracks I could be a bit biased, however, the hip-hop crossover record that Palms has crafted is likely to appeal to a wide range of audiences. He harmonizes his first two verses, warbling in a slight auto-tuned, yet full-emotion manor. Then, on the third and final verse he flips back to his rapping where he wraps up the song with a few well-delivered bars.
Although I can’t say I’ve been a fan of every single song that Trey Palms has ever released, he is surely making a mark in my mind and heading in the right direction.

Electro | Hyper Crush – Rage
Posted by admin on July 10, 2013
Yeah, let’s f*ckin’ rage! Although I may not be the resident EDM blogger here at Fresh New Tracks, I sure can recognize a masterful track when I hear one. Hyper Crush is gearing up to release their full album entitled, Vertigo, and “Rage” is the first single off of it. Having set the tone with a song like this, I have been left in utmost anticipation as to what comes next.
The next step is Hyper Crush’s official music video to this very song! It should be coming out soon, so check back in for when it does. Electro music videos are always a ride and with a party jam like this one, I can only imagine.
Go rage, and be sure to support by purchasing from iTunes if you can!
Chill, Cover | Elli Ingram – Poetic Justice (Cover)
Posted by admin on July 9, 2013
My affinity for female, British pop singers is just too much for me to handle sometimes. My newest crush goes by the name of Elli Ingram. Hailing from Brighton, England Elli has honed her talents from a very young age. Inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill, it’s easy to see where this vocalist gets her soulful, R&B flare.
The 19 year old soon-to-be star has just released her EP entitled Sober. The alcohol and drug-infused subject matter of the EP is one that you might not expect from a teenager, however, it becomes quite clear that Elli is not your average teen with a dream of stardom.
The standout from the EP, and song that originally peaked my interest, was her rendition of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s “Poetic Justice”. The cover manages to pump endless emotion in to an already emotion-filled song, and gives the average music listener some great new material to belt out in the shower.
Ingram is young and has already proved herself to many major players in the industry, if she keeps progressing it will be no time at all before she is a household name.
Enjoy the cover and hop over to Elli’s website to grab the full EP.
Electro | B.Dolla – Headhunter
Posted by admin on July 8, 2013
B.Dolla has always been a favorite in my books because of his “do-what-I-like” attitude. Herbie Hancock made a prolific impact on Dolla’s career and who he his musically, so he decided to take some of that passion and re-work it in to his music. Never mind that the young EDM fans of today probably don’t know the 1960s-age jazz pianist, Dolla thought, I’ll do what I want to do.
“Headhunter” is probably the exact opposite of what you’d expect out of an original track sampling Herbie Hancock. Hard hitting and trap infused, B.Dolla’s newest offering is most definitely one to be bumped at summer gatherings and a song that I can see thousands of fans wildin’ out to at a festival or two.
Last, slightly off-topic, but the album art for “Headhunter” is pretty stunning. That’s a great element to have going for you when submitting music. The art is the first thing bloggers see, and when it’s done professionally I’ll assume the music is just as professional!
Hip-Hop | A$AP Ferg – Shabba (ft. A$AP Rocky)
Posted by admin on July 7, 2013
A$AP Ferg, who? Isn’t he that guy with that one really hoodrat “Work” song? Why yes, yes he is. Although, it appears that Ferg is no longer the one-hit trap star that most of us thought he was. Drafting the support of A$AP collective member A$AP Rocky, Ferg delivers yet another banger to blast throughout your suburban towns and private school parking lots.
“Shabba” is a single off of the so-aptly-titled mixtape, Trap Lord. I’ll have to deduct points for the originality of the mixtape name, but I believe Darold Ferguson Jr. (yes, that is his birth-name) has truly earned his “lord” label as he was no stranger to the vicious streets of Harlem while growing up.
If you can get past the fifteen seconds of “uhhh”‘s at the start of “Shabba”, you are in for a real treat. Check back in on August 20th for the full A$AP Ferg mixtape.
Chill, Hip-Hop | Radical Something – Cheap Drink
Posted by admin on July 6, 2013
As it has probably become apparent the California-trio, Radical Something, is a favorite of mine. It’s been a while since we’ve had any new beach-y material, however, back like they never left RadSo unleashed, “Cheap Drink”. Josh Cocktail croons on the hook, highlighting a problem that I’m sure many of you have struggled with in the hot and expensive summer bar scene, followed by two verses from Loggy and an electro-reggae laced instrumental produced by Big Red.
The guys have been on a roll this summer, seeming to thrive in their natural sunny element. Since Radical Something is taking a break from touring for the majority of the hot and steamy months, I’m sure you’ll be seeing plenty more new music from them very soon.
If you enjoy the song, I’d recommend supporting Radical Something on iTunes here, otherwise scoop the free download above and vibe out!

We here at Fresh New Tracks are excited to bring you the newest mix from none other than, DJ Smiles! The disc jockey best known for his worldwide touring with reggae-duo, Aer, has decided to liven up your summer with this epic forty-five minute mix guaranteed to get you hyped!
DJ Smiles released The State of the Come-Up this past January, featuring some of the hottest rising rappers in the game, and while we anxiously await the next volume of the series, Smiles tides us over with “Twerk Trap”. If I told you that the likes of Tyga, Trinidad Jame$, Young Jeezy, and Lil Mama, were featured on the mix, you’d probably drop what you were doing and start twerking on spot — so I won’t tell you that. But, what I will tell you is that this song-collage is well worth the near-hour you’ll be investing into it.
All of you readers are the first to listen DJ Smiles’ mix, so feel lucky, and spread the love by dropping him a comment over on Soundcloud!
