Electro | AObeats & Manilla Killa – Aurorealis (EP)
Posted by admin on August 28, 2013
I was previously unfamiliar with AObeats and Manilla Killa, two electro artists with a very distinct sound to their music. The producers teamed up to create a mini-EP, consisting of two hard hitting tracks to remember. Now, some might criticize the length of this project, however, I’m glad they kept it short. It allows me to dive in more deeply to each song, along with the fact that I’m sure I’ll be racking up the play count.
The first track “Perfect Strangers” is straight out of an 80’s dance club with an infectious synth and drums that are made for grooving. “Limbo” on the other-hand was the polar opposite of what I expected. A deep-rooted and somber styling, “Limbo” features the vocals of jdv plus and has a drum line reminiscent to that of a trap production. These two songs come together for a full seven minutes of glory, surely worth the listen.
All in all this EP is one I recommend taking a chance on, and I can only hope to see more from this duo in the future!
Electro, House | Ghost Hunna – Talkin’ That
Posted by admin on August 22, 2013
A fresh face to the scene, Ghost Hunna, is two songs deep and already making quite the imprint on the blogosphere. With album art and music moniker that scream hip-hop, Ghost Hunna might surprise you with his electronic-house musical stylings. Hunna’s first release about a month ago was titled “Smellin’ Like I’m Rich” and was just about as ‘house’ as one can get.
“Talkin’ That”, on the other hand, is bridging the ever-closing gap between hip-hop and electronic music. The track features some beautifully chopped vocals and an airy, ambient sound similar to what I imagine The Weeknd would sound like if he were to ever record something semi-uplifting/cheerful/joyous.
Ghost Hunna is on to something big here and this is truly just the beginning. Be sure to check out the song and leave your feedback below, as I’m sure there will be plenty more to come.
Chill, Hip-Hop | Radical Something – Spraypaint (Video)
Posted by admin on August 22, 2013
Gearing up for what is arguably the biggest release of their career, Radical Something continues on a streak of great music releases. Just mere weeks away from the Ride It Out album premiere, one can only imagine how excited Loggy, Josh and Big Red are. The album is a result of months and months locked away in the studio, and surely anticipation from RadSo and their fans is at its tipping point.
If “Spraypaint” is a taste of the music we can expect on Ride It Out, I cannot wait to get my copy of the album on September 2nd. Light-hearted and fun, “Spraypaint” brings about a positive vibe and deeper underlying message about spreading the love.
So, spread the love and pre-order Radical Something’s album here! And be sure to catch them on their almost-two month tour in a city near you!
Hip-Hop, Rap | Devin Miles – Some Shxt II
Posted by admin on August 18, 2013
After receiving the nod from Travi$ Scott on his last song, Devin Miles has returned with part two of his “Some Shxt” series. He showcases his silky smooth delivery while spitting some bars off the top of his head. The song surely isn’t supposed to have a crazy concept or powerful message, but what it does do is give a taste of what young Mr. Miles is capable of.
His soulful sound sets him apart and will keep him relevant long after others have teetered off. Enjoy “Some Shxt II” and watch closely as I’m sure there is plenty more to come from this Pittsburgh emcee.
Electro | Markus Cole (ft. Vuk Lazar) – Deja Vu
Posted by admin on August 14, 2013
Markus Cole makes his Fresh New Tracks debut with one of his biggest productions to date, complete with Vuk Lazar feature and impressive music video. “Deja Vu” is a song made for the dance floor with a progressive house feel accompanied by massive vocals. It’s unusual to see non-megastars shooting music videos and Markus, as well as Vuk, were obviously testing their creative limits. The excitement-packed video sets them apart from many other up and comings producers and sure got my attention.
The song itself is a few months old, but if you missed its audio release a while back, be sure to grab the free download now, and enjoy the video.

Electro | Apollo – Can You Feel It
Posted by admin on August 8, 2013
I, like my blog brother Joe Salzer, specialize in posting hiphop, but do have the capability to notice a good EDM song when it slaps me across the face. And, boy, did “Can You Feel It” give me a solid backhand to the jaw bone. I’m a sucker for vocal cuts and when I heard virtually the entire song filled with some entrancing female pipes, I was instantly hooked.
The production was synth-filled, poppy, and overall a great time to listen to. “Can You Feel It” will be featured on Apollo’s upcoming five-track EP, and if this is any indicator of what is to come, I am more than excited!
Apologies in advance for butchering any of the EDM terms that I used. I’m trying my best to learn, bear with me.
