Chill, Hip-Hop | Chet Faker x GoldLink – On You
Posted by mimada on July 15, 2014
GoldLink is currently one of those artists that I just cannot get enough of – and fortunately for me he just keeps releasing one gem after another. The unlikely yet surprisingly compatible pairing of the rising hip hop star and ubiquitous Australian vocalist Chet Faker definitely delivers, with a beautiful, catchy chorus courtesy of Faker and some honest rhymes by GoldLink, wrapped up with some soulful keyboarding, perfect for those lazy Sunday mornings having breakfast in bed (“breakfast”) with your main squeeze.
Be sure to check out the making of “On You,” part of the series Songs From Scratch brought to you by adidias and Yours Truly below.

Electronic, Exclusive | KAOS – 8-Bit Love
Posted by mimada on July 14, 2014
If you were diggin’ that last release from Phazz in collaboration with the rising London-based label youtellme, just wait for what they have in store for you today. Introducing KAOS, an upcoming producer also based in the UK, whose track “8-Bit Love” is exactly what it sounds like, but with a little bit more trap and a lot more soul. This is only the beginning of what youtellme has in store, so stay tuned for a handful of releases in the coming weeks, and pre-order the entire volume here.
Electronic, Trap | Alison Wonderland – I Want U (GANZ Flip)
Posted by mimada on July 11, 2014
Every since Australian producer Alison Wonderland leaked the preview for the GANZ remix of her single “I Want You,” fans have been holding their breaths and WOW, was it worth the wait. The Dutch producer frankly has yet to disappoint with a remix, considering his flips of “Tell Me,” “Hyperparadise,” and AlunaGeorge’s “Superstar,” just to name a few, have all been nothing less than extraordinary. Here, GANZ preserves Wonderland’s vocals and switches up the drop to something even bigger than you could ever imagine. Cop the free download and turn this up.
Electronic, Trap | Phazz – Lionheart
Posted by mimada on July 11, 2014
By now, you should already be familiar with French producer Phazz and the majority of his repertoire, so allow me to introduce you rather to the startup label that brings us this fresh new track. Meet youtellme, a London based platform focused on sharing music from eclectic, genre-defying artists from all over the map. This addicting electronic-trap jam is the first release off their freshman compilation volume, which features a superb variety of artists that you hopefully haven’t yet heard of but won’t be able to stop listening once you do. Trust me, youtellme is telling you the right things to listen to.
Chill, House | U.S. Royalty – Into the Thicket (Dino Remix)
Posted by mimada on June 2, 2014
I’m really excited to share this song with you for a multitude of reasons, one being that it beautifully redefines what typically comes to mind when you hear the words “Swedish” and “house.” This track from Stockholm-based producer, DINO, is a delightful, summery indie house remix to U.S. Royalty’s “Into The Thicket,” perfectly integrating that American folk feel with an electric beat. Categorize this under “Songs to Listen to While Driving at Sunset With the Windows Down” and you won’t regret it.
Chill, Electronic | Sinead Harnett (Feat Snakehips) – No Other Way
Posted by mimada on May 29, 2014
The stunning British songstress Sinead Harnett, who you might recognize from her collabs with Ryan Hemsworth & Disclosure, recently paired up with my *all-time* fav producing duo Snakehips to bring us this electro-soul feel-good jam “No Other Way.” You’ll recognize those spacey sounds that are so quintessentially Snakehips, but it’s Sinead’s vocals that really steal the spotlight here, enveloping you like a gentle breeze on a warm summer day. If you’re a fan of Banks, you’re going to love this. And on a side note, shoutout to Snakehips for their efforts in bringing soul and R&B music back to life, what a breath of fresh air it is to hear something with some real feelings.
Chill, Electronic | Last Lynx – Curtains (Dinnerdate Remix)
Posted by mimada on May 29, 2014
German producer DINNERDATE is on a roll lately. We’ve seen quite a number of delightful and diverse releases from him the past couple weeks, including his most recent with Fabich & Ferdinand Weber, “Souls Together.” This time around, he brings us a remix of the Swedish “60’s organic pop” group, Last Lynx. Dinnerdate put his signature touch on it, with those calm electronic house vibes that just carry you away into the sunset. Simply perfect.
