Electro-House | R3hab & Lucky Date – Rip It Up (Nicky Romero Edit)
Posted by Middy on December 14, 2013
“Rip It Up” has the signature Lucky Date sound and grit that has made him such a hot commodity these days, notably on collaborations. It’s entirely likely that Lucky Date made the majority of the track and was later given the R3hab stamp of approval, literally and figuratively, but we will probably never know. With Nicky Romero adding his name to the mix with an edit, it was inevitable that this would turn out great. Get ready to see this one rip through sets this winter.

Progressive House | Julian Jordan – Aztec
Posted by Middy on December 12, 2013
Having hit 100k fans on Facebook, Julian Jordan has decided to give out a dynamite free original. Too often we see bootlegs given out for big Facebook milestones, when you know they are holding on to goodie, goodies like this. This track is crisp, powerful and melodic, making it possibly one of the young Dutchman’s strongest tracks to date.

Dubstep | Illenium ft. Sirma – Drop Our Hearts
Posted by Middy on December 12, 2013
It has been a while since I have been really blown away by a submission. Yes, there will be absolute heat in big time press releases, but that is a given. The great satisfaction comes from finding those hidden gems hidden amongst your mass bcc emails and mass non-bcc emails, that shine like Kanye on the set of South Park. The track has the similar feel of Stephen Swartz’s “Bullet Train” combining deep, rumbling bass with emotive piano, cinematic effects and female vocals that top the whole thing off. Illenium has a 4 track EP coming on January 16th, which so far sounds outstanding.

Dutch phenom Sandro Silva has been on the scene since he was 15, soon breaking through with his release “Prom Night”. The mastermind behind the game-changing single “Epic” (he sheds light on it during the interview), Sandro Silva has proven he is not a one hit wonder, garnering a countless number of other well-received singles & remixes on labels like Mixmash, Spinnin’, and most recently, Revealed Recordings.
His most recent single, “Payback” hit the top ten of the Beatport main charts and has been a favorite of artists like Hardwell, Benny Benassi, Deniz Koyu and plenty more. We had the chance to chat with him about his most recent single to see what makes it different from other festival-styled tracks, ghost production, an accusation incorrectly thrown at him, and more. Read on for the interview and grab “Payback” here.
House | Strange Talk – Climbing Walls (Viceroy Remix)
Posted by Middy on December 11, 2013
In honor of his birthday this past weekend, Viceroy has given out a gift to his fans in the form of this remix. It sticks to his summertime, all the time attitude, to music adding and laidback electronic flavor to this indie original from Strange Talk. It may be getting cold outside in the Northern Hemisphere, but that does not mean the tunes have to reflect the falling temperatures.

Progressive House | Marcus Schössow, Mike Hawkins & Pablo Oliveros – Ulysses
Posted by Middy on December 9, 2013
The opening track of Size label boss Steve Angello’s sets over the past few months, “Ulysses” has the power and dexterity you expect from a release on Size. As the owner of the increasingly influential Megaton Records, Mike Hawkins becomes a bigger name in dance music, and here he teams up with Pablo Oliveros Marcus Schossow to create a bouncy bass line and long, riveting melodic builds. The Scandinavian connection is strong here with 2 Danes and 1 Swede on the track.
