House | Justin Jay – Bounce and Break
Posted by Middy on August 6, 2014
Dirtybird Records man Justin Jay takes a break from his official releases to release the middle school dance inspired tune “Bounce and Break”. A rare freebee from Justin Jay, he brings together a groovy, deep, g house tune with a focus strictly on the beats. Download the tune below and make sure to keep an eye on this guy with plenty more Dirtybird action to come.

House | Eric Prydz – Pryda 028
Posted by Middy on August 5, 2014
Eric Prydz is my favorite producer, so I am biased when it comes to reviewing his material, but when he releases 4 new tracks at once, the dance world stops and listens. It isn’t just because other producers cry at how impeccable his mixdowns are, or his genius samples, but because of how innovative, fresh and timeless each track is. This 4 track is no different with addictive vocal bits throughout, notably on “Mija” and “Origins” with a nice balance of dark, brooding bass lines, not too far away from a Cirez D production and the cheery, fluttering arps and synths Pryda is so well known for.
Unfortunately for him, Porter decided to release the stream for “Worlds” yesterday, which took over the internet spotlight from this. If any of you are heading to MSG on 9/27, I hope to see you there. Let’s pray that the Pryda album gets released this year….

Hit play and stare deep into the artwork. Down there you will hit a beautiful beach sunset that only this song can take you to. It got its first play as a mystery track on the 41st Magic Tape and now has a proper release with its soothing synths and addictive vocals, perfect for the summer.

I have listened through 3 times and it is stunning. I don’t say that lightly because of all of the hype it has gotten in past few months leading up to its August 12th release date. However, my words won’t really do it true justice, just go listen to it yourself on NPR now. Pre-order the album on iTunes here.
Trap | Chief Keef – Bang (Havok Roth Remix)

There are certain guys that you can just tell are going to be winners. Not just from the early DJ support, but from the high-level collabs that happen quickly, as well as the internet buzz. Havok Roth is one of those guys, and having been commissioned to put together this free remix by Chief Keef’s camp, he proving that winning title once again.

Progressive House | Michael Jackson – Slave to the Rhythm (Audien Remix)

Remixing the king of pop is no easy task. Add to that, making it an official remix as an up and coming artist makes it an even greater challenge. Audien steps right up and delivers something a little different from his other tracks like “Hindsight”, but meshes right in with the tune.

It is time to turn the page on #Selfie, the disaster that was their appearance on American Idol and everything that had to do with that. The irony of Selfie is that it only made the situation worse. Alas, people are too dumb to realize when they are being made fun of. Time to get back to what got The Chainsmokers their fans who are more interested in the remixed artist then the best Instagram filter for their selfie.
Back with that, they have managed to get music ready for the end of the summer and this fall, despite an incredibly busy summer that has taken them all over the world, with more shows to come, including Electric Zoo. Turning that page they have another single “Kanye” out in a week and then this remix sometime in September.
