Featured, Hip-Hop, Interviews, Videos | On The Spot Interview with Hoodie Allen [FNT Exclusive]
Posted by LoffyG on May 20, 2012
I caught up with Hoodie Allen in Minneapolis, MN and took a few minutes to give him my “On The Spot” interview. Hoodie was definitely a good match for this style, all his answers were thoughtful and more than a simple yes or no. Aside from the interview, the show was amazing and I was surprised at how many people came out. If it wasn’t sold-out it was definitely very close. He puts on a awesome performance and has a band with him to rock out. I thought it was cool that he covered multiple popular radio hits that everyone knew the words to. That way if your friend had you come along and familiar with much of his music, you could still sing along. The remainder of this tour in the US is sold-out, but for those in the UK and Ireland you can still get tickets here.

Fort. Lauderdale, Florida rapper Hi-Rez finally drops his anticipated mixtape, The Window. After dropping numerous songs off the project such as “X-Problems”, “On The Clock” and “A Meaning” I was impressed with Hi-Rez’s production behind beats and delivery with verses. After taking time and listening to the entire mixtape a few times over I’ve got to say this, Hi-Rez and his music have grown a lot over this past year. From the songs themselves down to the videos that accompany them. The #RezNation that follows has continued to steadily grow along with him as well. Now pushing over 12,600 Twitter followers and 26,000 likes on Facebook. If you’re looking to switch it up and listen to something new give this a try and let us know what you think in the comments below!
Hip-Hop | Mike Posner ft. Huey Mack – Looks Like Sex (Remix)
Posted by LoffyG on May 14, 2012
Huey Mack adds a verse to Mike Posner’s popular song “Looks Like Sex” off his upcoming album Sky High, making it a remix. I’m definitely feeling Huey’s addition to the song, it’s short but on point. Huey has been dropping music on the regular lately and I respect when artists do that. It always leaves the iPod with something fresh on the playlist. If you missed Huey’s recent mixtape release A Boy Named Hue, grab there here.

Electro, Hip-Hop | Timeflies Tuesday: No Sleep Till Brooklyn
Posted by LoffyG on May 9, 2012
It’s that time again, this week Timeflies pays tribute to Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch (MCA), who passed away Friday from a three-year battle with cancer. Rez does a sick job sampling “No Sleep Till Brooklyn” by the Beastie Boys adding his electro touch. Cal pulls topic related words out of a bowl, executing another one of his signature freestyles. Mad respect to these guys for doing this one, too necessary!
