Hip-Hop | King Fantastic – Locals Only (Music Video)
Posted by Jess on September 20, 2011
King Fantastic just dropped their video for “Locals Only”, the lead single off their Death of Summer EP (free download of the entire EP available here). The director of the video is none other than Grandma’s Boy director Nicholaus Goossen, the same director who did their viral “Why? Where? What?” video.

RnB | The Weeknd – The Morning ft. Kenton Dunson (Chi Duly Remix)
Posted by Jess on September 16, 2011
Above is not your ordinary YouTube artwork video and this is not your ordinary The Weeknd remix. Chi Duly chopped up The Weeknd’s “The Morning” and enlisted Kenton Dunson to provide vocals for the track. Be on the lookout for Kenton Dunson’s music video for “Firestarter” dropping next week!

Hip-Hop, Videos | Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Otherside (Original) (Music Video Edit)
Posted by Jess on September 12, 2011
Being a huge fan of the original “Otherside” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, I decided to take the recently released music video for the remix and to match it up with the original song. The end result turned out amazing. I can’t decide whether I like the remix or the original more but they both definitely deserved the visual treatment.
Electro | Liberty – Prototype (Original Mix)
Posted by Jess on September 9, 2011
Fasten your seat belts people, I got some brand new Liberty for your ears. This latest freebie delivers what you’ve come to expect from the duo, hard hitting Electro that may just blow your speakers. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
On another note, be on the lookout for an upcoming remix by Liberty of Kenton Dunson’s “Dope” in the coming month. It should be insane!

Hip-Hop | Gabriel Stark – Anniversary (Prod. DJ Skeet Skeet)
Posted by Jess on September 5, 2011
Rising up and comer Gabriel Stark has been steadily making a name for himself as of late. His breakout song “The Runway” produced by Brenton Duvall sampling Taylor Swift’s “Mean” led him to greater fame as well as an eventual feature on XXL’s The Break. With his latest release “Anniversary”, he goes over a instrumental produced by the one and only DJ Skeet Skeet that samples none other than Taylor Swift again. He has a mixtape due out titled “Thursday in Australia” on the 15th and this opportunity to proved to be a nice layover until its release.
“Anniversary is a record that came about pretty organically. I was in the middle of writing a paper, heard the beat, dropped everything and went and recorded it. We were able to get it recorded, mixed and out to the public in less than 24 hours. It’s a nice layover until Thursday in Australia on the 15th and my album, Thank You Starky on October 20th” – Starky

Hip-Hop | Braille – Feel It (Music Video)
Posted by Jess on August 28, 2011
In my opinion, an emcee doesn’t get much better than Braille. He’s an artist that I discovered in my days of digging and searching for great underground Hip Hop artists. Many of those artists I discovered at that time, I stopped listening to but Braille is one of those artists I still enjoy to this day. Each album of his is a classic in my opinion and even has an album entirely produced by Symbolic One (producer of Kanye West’s “Power”).
On August 30th, he will be releasing his 7th solo record Native Lungs for free on HumbleBeast.com. “Feel It” is the lead single from the album and features production from Evidence (of Dilated Peoples) and scratches by DJ Revolution. It is a song that any true Hip Hop fan will love. No download yet but be patient as Native Lungs will be released in only three days.
