Pop | Smokey Robotic – Hot Brass (Music Video)
Posted by Jess on November 28, 2011
Cutting footage from one of their recent performances and spicing it up with some trippy animation from Rachael Freedman comes Smokey Robotic’s latest music video “Hot Brass” off their as-of-yet untitled upcoming album. The song features a catchy beat heavy on brass instruments and plenty of references to hot sauce. From the looks of the video, the party seemed like a hell of a good time.
“When brass heats up, spines get cold, ghosts just twirling twirling… Fashion monsters, bulldog bites, the room just whirling whirling…” – Smokey Robotic

Hip-Hop | Lazee – Better Than The Best (Prod. Rusko)
Posted by Jess on November 28, 2011
I only recently became aware of Swedish rapper Lazee and the tracks I have heard thus far have been impressive. From his catchy Ultra Records release “Hold On” to his single “Young N Restless” featuring Eric Turner, it is easy to see he is a rapper to watch. Having already established a heavy presence in Europe, he has recently been readying up his U.S. debut working with John Legend’s inhouse producers Phatboi Entertainment as well as many others.
The video above shows him in the studio with Phatboi Entertainment as well as FNT regular Kenton Dunson (who previews a new track of his as well). I believe the tracks previewed by Lazee in the video are off his most recent album Suppose To Happen that is out now and an album I definitely need to check out when I get the chance.
I did happen to track down the last song in the video titled “Better Than The Best”, which Lazee describes as “some European crazy shit”. It turns out that the track was produced by none other than Rusko himself and was off his First Class Five Stars – Season 2 mixtape released awhile back (and seemingly impossible to find). He didn’t lie, the track is insane and a must download. Be on the lookout for more music from Lazee in the near future.
Hip-Hop, Rap, Videos | The Foodchain – Brunch (Album)
Posted by Jess on November 18, 2011
The Denver Hip Hop collective The Foodchain just dropped their sophomore album Brunch. The album features a bunch of dope tracks in their pure Hip Hop style. My favorite tracks off the album include “Groove”, “Traction”, “Ms. Peaches”, “Baccstabbers” and of course their first single “Dear Industry”. You can watch the music video for “Dear Industry” above and stream the entire album below. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
Hip-Hop, Videos | Kenton Dunson – Beautiful Fight (Music Video)
Posted by Jess on November 14, 2011
Kenton Dunson just brought to life his track “Beautiful Fight” with an amazing new video directed by AtomEvolve. The track, in my opinion, is one of the stand out tracks from his Creative Destruction 2 project (available for free here). This video is also much more focused on Kenton himself in contrast to his last video “Firestarter” that was much more story-centric. Check it out and make sure you grab a copy of Creative Destruction 2 if you have yet to do so.

Hip-Hop | The Foodchain – Traction ft. Kenton Dunson

I first introduced The Foodchain to you with their smooth single “Dear Industry” and they are back with the second leak off their upcoming album Brunch, dropping this Friday Nov. 11th. The track titled “Traction” is a collaboration between The Foodchain and Kenton Dunson and contains a smooth beat that each emcee rips into. This track is just another taste of what to expect from their sophomore release that will surely be dope.
House, Videos | Silver Medallion & DJ DStar – Stars (Music Video)

And boom, here goes the second official release from DJ Benzi’s Get Right Records. “Stars” is a dope uptempo house collaboration between Silver Medallion and DJ DStar who plan on releasing more tracks together. Rightfully so as this one is a banger. Also, expect some dope remixes of “Stars” to be released in the near future.

The collective known as The Foodchain have been producing some of the best Hip Hop in Colorado since The Procussions. Their album Brunch is set to drop Nov. 11th with the track “Dear Industry” as their lead single. This chill track is a reminder of what Hip Hop should sound like.
