DJ-Set, House | Eric Prydz Essential Mix 3/8/2013
Posted by J-Tiffy on August 13, 2013
Eric Prydz has graced us with yet another Essential Mix, which makes it two for him this year. Packed with ID’s, the man brings us an expectedly fresh and forward thinking mix. This mix was recorded live in Ibiza, and whoever was lucky enough to see it live got quite a show. He definitely now has two mixes in the running for Essential Mix of the year. Set aside an hour and a half, and get lost in this epic mix. The very much unknown tracklist is available at the Soundcloud link.
House | His Majesty Andre Feat. Anna Lunoe – Sunshine
Posted by J-Tiffy on August 6, 2013
I have a lot of respect for the folks at Main Course Records. Astronomar, Bot, and Neoteric are all wickedly innovative artists in their own respect. They go on to give us Main Course Records, a label that always offers its releases for free with the option to purchase and support the artists. Today, Main Courses serves us up something special. The intro is an easy listening little bit that reels you in. The vocals of Anna Lunoe, combined with the unexpected, but perfectly fitting, drop crafted by His Majesty Andre, make for a deep track that would absolutely kill in the middle of a set. This tack comes as part of a two song release. My compliments to the chef.
Progressive House | Sander Van Doorn – Neon (Club Mix)
Posted by J-Tiffy on August 5, 2013
This is what Serotonin sounds like. Sander Van Doorn is a happiness pusher, and his latest single is hitting the streets with force. Let him deal you a dose of bliss by the name of Neon. At first it’s a familiar feeling; you are no stranger to the beat. Ghostly whistles, powerful strings and bouncing synths find their way into your consciousness, giving you the feeling that something unfamiliar is beginning. The feeling climbs, then drops off suddenly, peeking your interest. You’re left alone with the whistles – like a whispering ghost that is both mysterious and comforting. The strings return to you suddenly in strong waves, and you’re on your way up. The feeling keeps rising, the joy coursing through your veins and dominating every thought. Then, finally, you hit the peek and ride the euphoric feeling for what seems like eternity. You may find yourself smiling, or dancing uncontrollably – this is just the song doing its job. All good things must come to an end however, and on the way down you find yourself with the eerie whispers that make you crave another go. Feel free to go on a smile binge, and lock this down on repeat. Sander has plenty of love to go around.

House | Fehrplay – Monte / Talk To Me
Posted by J-Tiffy on July 31, 2013
As someone I know put it so very well earlier today, Fehrplay is the man. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of this two song EP since Middy posted previews of both songs a couple of weeks ago. Both tracks are awesome and both are born from Fehrplay’s dark side. His better known tracks are of the shiny and uplifting nature, while these two are much more sinister. “Monte” makes me think of Deadmau5’s “Lack Of A Better Name”; with breaks that are pretty and inviting, contrasted by dark main sections that have sneaky synths plucking along with them. “Talk To Me” houses a similar dark energy, with a nice emotional section cradled in the middle. It has more of a soft feel to it whereas “Monte” is a bit edgy. Jump on both of these tracks and look into Fehrplay, just do it, his music is wicked, and his mixes are off the chain.

House | Kaskade – Atmosphere (AMTRAC Remix)
Posted by J-Tiffy on July 29, 2013
I had a predisposition to this song before I gave it a listen, just because I saw AMTRAC on it. Let alone the fact that I’m a big Kaskade fan and really enjoy the original track. As an artist, AMTRAC has an infectiously funky feel. His tracks ooze a deep yet fun, and usually soulful vibe. He always provides interesting work on the vocals of his tracks which help keep his songs incredibly interesting. He brought all of those signature elements to this remix coming right out of the gates with Kaskade’s airy vocals, almost isolated, and then gently lifting you up to a level where he can hit you with the beat. From there, the song is an ever changing adventure; each phrase different from, and yet complimenting the phrase previous to it. This remix really showcases AMTRAC’s sound and skill, and if you like it then definitely check out everything he has touched, it’s all equally awesome. This track was released as half of a remix package out now on Beatport.
