Electro, Interviews, Videos | Music Talks Presents: Avicii – A Global Sensation
Posted by Grubeats on September 19, 2012
[do action=”youtube” videoid=”KgFQD0Uyp2E”/]
Independent interview series “Music Talks” is back with their second interview linking up with one of the worlds hottest DJs. After debuting the Music Talks series with an exclusive Mac Miller interview, the crew was able to land a chair next to Mr. Bergling and discuss everything from his personal favorite song, to blondes & brunettes, to the apparent new game of “flip cup”. It’s not often we see interviews with Avicii, especially ones that touch on his personal side. The kid may not know how to play flip cup just yet, but it’s fair to say he’s got a decent understanding of this music thing.

Electro, Videos | Na Palm – Electronic Chronic #002 [Promo Video]

With less than one week left leading up to the release of Na Palm’s second Electronic Chronic podcast, the Windy City warrior takes to the streets with Milk & Cookies to save the world from reported unearthly sounds and creatures. Showcasing his sense of humor and passion for EDM, Nay shares some of the most interesting promo content I’ve ever seen, but sadly I know some of you can relate all too well. Stay tuned for the official release of EC2 next Monday, 9/24 and be sure to report any sounds by unidentified beach whales and tree huggers to your local radio stations.
On another note, Nay will be performing at College Fest in Boston this weekend with the likes of Wale, The Cataracs, Kap Slap, 3LAU, & many more. You can purchase tickets and use coupon code “CRAY” to get tix for only $10 while supplies last!
Hip-Hop, Videos | QuESt – One Way [Music Video]

With yet another visual treatment to accompany “One Way” off his Fear Not Failure mixtape, QuESt is gaining confidence with each release and it’s clear that is translating to more emotion and personality behind the camera. The depth in QuESt’s lyrics is astounding. This is by far the best video I’ve seen to date from the slept on Miami star. With the stars in his reach, I wouldn’t be surprised to see QuESt grasping the world in his hands without conforming to one way.

Freestyle, Hip-Hop | KURT – Next Episode (Freestyle)
Posted by Grubeats on September 14, 2012
Ever wonder how Dr. Dre became the Hulk of hip-hop? Doc does 25 pushups for every dreadful freestyle or remix of “Next Episode”. Fortunately for us, the highly motivated 24-year old Long Island MC held his own on the classic. Recognizing the significance of the beat, KURT exercises his poise and assures us his next episode is only just begun. In addition to “Next Episode”, I’ve also included another freestyle over G.O.O.D.’s “New God Flow”. I’m never sold until I hear original work but there’s no denying this boy’s got flow. KURT’s debut mixtape, Red Carpet Ignorance on its way.

Freestyle, Hip-Hop | Tayyib Ali Drops 3 New Tracks
Posted by Grubeats on September 13, 2012
Young Tayyib Ali has been spending the last several weeks out in LA recording his EP with the tiki man, Cisco Adler. Evidently all the time in the studio had Tay feeling froggy to release some new music to his fans. Sharing with us two originals, “Anything” and “Like Dat”, as well as a remix over Wale’s “Tats On My Arm” flipped to suit any frequents of AA, titled “Straight Out The Bottle”. Although none of these will land on either Tay’s One Way EP or his next mixtape, Keystone State of Mind 2 (tentative name), new music is nothing to be frowning about.
Hip-Hop | Azad Right – Born To Win
Posted by Grubeats on September 11, 2012
[do action=”youtube” videoid=”cg_sIl-GUac”/]
With his third #GetRightTuesday release, Azad lets the beat bounce as he balls-so-hard over a ChromeBully beat. Comparing his performance to some of the NBA and NFL elite, the West coast rhyme sayer reminds us he is very capable of delivering a banger. Forget the hook, when you’re got bars this heavy, let the Isley Brothers “Spend The Night” sample take you over the bridge. Stay tuned, this kid has heat coming.
