I, for one, am thoroughly enjoying 90’s Finest’s latest decision to take a short hiatus from releasing original material so that they can flex their production muscles. Their most recent remix to Coldpay’s Waterfall upholds the laid-back and easy going vibe that made the original a smashing success, while adding a vigor that any true electro-head would crave after listening to the original.

It’s no secret. I have a blog crush on Iggy Azalea. She’s like the female version of Paul Wall minus the poor choice in tattoos. “I Think She Ready” which features Iggy Azalea, serves as the lead single off Mad Decent’s upcoming FKi mixtape. If you haven’t noticed, the down south ignorant rap style (which has slowly fallen out of popular culture) has seen a resurgence thanks to artists like A$AP Rocky and Iggy Azalea. Just a few weeks ago, Diplo linked up with Riff Raff to create “Rice Out.” Whether Diplo was serious or trying to be ironic, it’s interesting to see the rap paradigm shift, combining two opposite worlds into one. Production on the track goes to Derek Allen Diplo and Heroes and Villains. Be on the lookout for the mixtape dropping January 23rd.

After catching my ear with his epic mashup R3hab W3rks, Teets has continues to impress me with every new release. His latest mashup features Avicii’s remix to Drowning as the main thread and adds vocals from Adele, Krewella, Coldplay, Gaga and more into the mix.

WOAH now, Ravi of Sex Ray Vision, turned Taio’s Troublemaker into dancefloor filth! To be honest, I think the original was a sub par showing coming from Taio Cruz, but the energy that Ravi brings to this beat reinvigorates the track completely.I really like how Ravi smoothed out the intro but the icing on the cake here are the side chained vocals on the hook, which provide an epic feel that was recently brought to the forefront of the EDM scene by Alesso in his remix to Pressure.

Vision is the art of seeing the invisible. Artists like Sol wouldn’t be visible if they didn’t have a platform like the internet to spread their message on. That’s why music blogging is so fun. We discover the projects worthy of being made visible. Sol’s recent “2020” video is certainly one worth sharing. The Seattle based spitter is gearing up for his upcoming “Yours Truly” album dropping January 20th. I haven’t heard a hip-hop song with this much substance in a long time.
