Cover | LahLahLandMusic – “Real Love” by Clean Bandit [Cover]
Posted by BIGLIFE on November 18, 2014
You saw her Hozier “Take Me to Church” cover drop here a month ago. Now Leah Haxhi takes you to her LahLahLand of Music once again with her cover and video of this up-tempo ballad- the perfect marriage of vibrant vocals and prominent violin counterpoint. The track features a totally fresh, trance-like beat created by producer Mike Irish and original violin melodies written and played by Leah which further bring out the beauty of the way the violin fits into the original Clean Bandit version. You will be movin and grooving—seduced by the beat, vocals, and strings—along with the added visual element added by videographer Jermaine Isaac of Emerge Visuals.

House | Lion Babe – Jump Hi (Todd Edwards Remix)
Posted by BIGLIFE on November 18, 2014
When I heard this track on The Magician’s “Magic Tape 47” I spit my Mountain Dew out and I wasn’t even drinking any. I scrambled relentlessly looking for the link. After a considerable search, I finally found it. Premiered on BBC Radio 1, NY’s Lion Babe enlisted Todd Edwards to remix “Jump Hi” featuring Childish Gambino. To say he smashed it would be doing him a disservice. It’s the best remix of them all. Incredible vibes. Huge chune. Stay up to date on what Todd is up next via his Soundcloud account.
Hats off to Todd and Echo Location Talent.

Deep House | The Magician – Magic Tape 47
Posted by BIGLIFE on November 18, 2014
The Magician is silly good. He’s pulled another rabbit out of his hat with another installment of his “Magic Tape” series with volume 47 packed full of tracks that are incredible. In true Magician fashion, he hasn’t included a tracklist which makes hunting down these tracks all the more fun.
The Magician. So hot right now. The Magician.
House | Cleavage – Prove (Official Music Video)
Posted by BIGLIFE on November 17, 2014
Cleavage’s “Prove” on Spinnin’ Records is a tune. Little known secret is that it’s been out for a good while. By good while I mean a year or two. That doesn’t matter, because the video dropped last week and it’s already amassed 400,000 plays, and deservedly so. I don’t understand the video one bit (probably because I’m an American simpleton) but this groovy disco-inspired single deserves all the spins.

House | A-Trak ft. Andrew Wyatt – Push
Posted by BIGLIFE on November 17, 2014
It’s so hard to make a festival friendly banger without losing credibility. The line between cliche and timeless is extremely thin. (How Galantis does this is beyond me, but I digress.) Somehow, A-Trak has found a way to balance the two, creating “Push” featuring Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow fame. The result is truly unforgettable, as “Push” has the potential to break through not only in a dance space full of predictable anthems, but also on American radio as well. A-Trak. Andrew Wyatt. Fire flames.

House | Oliver Heldens – Heldeep Radio 24
Posted by BIGLIFE on November 16, 2014
Heeeeey. This is BIG LIFE, and you’re reading another post about another episode of Heldeep Radio. This week, Oliver Heldens brings you tracks from Drop Dopers, Bakermat, Shiba San, and more. Did you read that in Oliver Heldens voice that sounds like Charlie Brown’s teacher circa 1970? I hope so. How no one has pointed this out yet is beyond me. Regardless, Oliver Heldens is my favorite artist at the moment and I can’t wait to catch a show. I wake up every Saturday morning like an excited child on Christmas to listen to a new episode every week. It’s that good. Oliver Heldens. Heldeep Radio. Love to get too deep.
You’re now in the mix. Niiiiiiiice. *Oliver Heldens Voice*
House | Kanye West – Deep/Slaves/Mercy (SomeOneHad2DoIt Edition)
Posted by BIGLIFE on November 14, 2014
Well, here we go. Another anonymous producer on our hands. At least that’s the way it’s been billed and pitched to the masses. I can’t blame these producers for posting anonymously. Fans are close minded and will turn on you fast if you release something they’re not accustomed to. SomeOneHad2DoIt steps up to the plate to put his “future house” spin on Kanye West’s signature tracks with impressive results.
Do we have another ZHU on our hands? I’d argue it’s too early to tell. The track is good but not great. What I don’t like is their aesthetic. Using Kate Upton (who’s built like a rectangle) isn’t my cup of tea and cheapens the song in my opinion. Further, it’s less impressive from a creative standpoint now that many are attempting to follow the model that Jake Udell largely pioneered. Just my two cents.
Criticism aside, I’m sure this will show up on Oliver’s “Heldeep Radio” soon enough.
