Future House | Pete Tong Previews Martin Solveig’s Brand New “+1”
Posted by BIGLIFE on May 7, 2015
Ah, the plus one. A ubiquitous request made many a times by those in the “the scene”. Martin Solveig is likely no stranger to this request, as he’s toured the world and back with his infectious production and knack for knowing what’s next in dance music. Case and point: “+1” a future house tune previewed by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong that has groove written all over it. Building on the success of his massive “Intoxicated” with GTA, I suspect “+1” out on Spinnin’ Deep will see equally strong results on June 1st.
Events | Cornell’s DU Kicks Off Slope Day 15′ With Collin McLoughlin
Posted by BIGLIFE on May 5, 2015
It’s that time of year again. The sun is out, the beer is cold, and the women… well you get the point. Cornell’s famed DU fraternity is bringing back LA based producer and DJ Collin McLoughlin this Thursday (May 7th) to throw down on the decks in the morning to kick off the ivy league tradition. Spinning all of your favorite jams, Collin McLoughlin aims to please with a two hour set destined to make even the most dance-deficient get their rage on. When asked about his forthcoming performance Collin explained, “Slope Day 2014 was an incredible experience. Being a native New Yorker, Cornell has a special place in my heart. With David Fitz back from his world tour, I expect the energy to really be on another level. I can’t wait to be back.”
Cornell. DU. Slope Day 2015. Collin McLoughlin. Don’t miss it.

Future House | Sydney’s Tom Budin Crushes Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again”
Posted by BIGLIFE on May 5, 2015
I’m not a fan of the pop-rap crossover “Top 40” nonsense that gets played on the radio. I’m not even a Fast and Furious fan. This “See You Again” record is something else though. It’s so well done and it’s the hit that Wiz Khalifa (and his label) seriously needed. Hits are hard to come by. Sydney’s Tom Budin (pronounced Boo-Din for all you yanks) brings the record to another level, transporting it into a groovy future house banger that I can see myself blacking out to and throwing up in an Uber XL later in the night while driving through Raising Cane’s and ordering five caniac combos. It’s just that good. What’s even better? It’s a free download which should be a crime. I’d buy this remix a million times.

Cover, Pop | Leah Haxhi Drops Video for LunchMoney Lewis Bills Cover with Live Violin
Posted by BIGLIFE on May 5, 2015
Leah Haxhi, an up-and-coming singer songwriter out of NYC, dropped a video today to go along with her LunchMoney Lewis “Bills” Cover that was posted here on FNT a few weeks ago. She kept the piano generally the same as the original song to stay with the bright, gospel feel of the tune, but replaced the trumpet solo in the original with a live violin. The video is a fun, amateur, home grown project featuring her younger cousin as her “mini-me” to juxtapose the freedom of childhood with the responsibility of being an adult and having “bills” to pay. This shows a quirky, childlike side to Leah that is different from her usual serious, sultry tone. She is brewing up a lot of original music so be sure to follow her social media at LahLahLandMusic on Twitter, IG, and Facebook to get the latest on releases.

Progressive House | Martin Garrix and Tiesto Release “Only Way Is Up” on Musical Freedom
Posted by BIGLIFE on May 4, 2015
Here at FreshNewTracks.com, we’re not big on progressive house. Why you ask? Because it’s wanna-be top 40 recycled ghost-produced garbage. This new Martin Garrix and Tiesto collaboration out today on Musical Freedom is straight fire. We first heard it at Ultra in Miami, and couldn’t wait for the release date. Now it’s here and Spinnin’ Records has been kind enough to release the video. I’d rag on the awkward Tiesto cameos, but it’s not worth it. This “Only Way Is Up” single is a big ole’ tune.
