Videos | Experience the Magic of Hardwell’s “World’s Biggest Guest List” Charity Concert With the Official Aftermovie
Posted by Juicebox on February 11, 2016
Last December, Hardwell set off to make history, and join the ranks of world record holders, in the most charitable way by hosting 100,000 fans on his personal guest list. While over 125,000 people pre-registered for the opportunity, over 70,000 fans joined Hardwell at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai. For the concert, Hardwell and his United We Are Foundation teamed up with the children advocacy group, Magic Bus, with the goal of providing education for 3,000 underprivileged children in India – a goal that they shattered. The “World’s Biggest Guest List” concert was able to generate enough money to help 18,000 kids – six-times their original goal – as Hardwell became the first artist to use his voice to make a difference in the world. The official aftermovie follows Hardwell, as he explains how he was inspired to come to Mumbai for this charity concert, and reproduces the magic that took place in Mumbai on December 13th. Posted by Juicebox on February 9, 2016
Justin Caruso’s new remix of “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” will take you on a trip down memory lane. This remix is a fresh take on a classic song that will have you in love with the song all over again. The song is evidently unique through it’s use of the vocoder which hasn’t been used successfully since Daft Punk’s last album. Give it a listen and if you like what you hear be sure to check out his other stuff.

This track initially surfaced following The Flying Dutchman festival in The Netherlands, and has been slowly making the rounds in the festival circuit last year, but we’ve officially got the name – “Hollywood” – and the release. “Hollywood” isn’t made for easy listening at home, as the high-energy collaboration features screeching synths and booming horns that are perfect for the main stage. Last week, Matt Medved, Billboard Dance editor-in-chief and the DJ / producer, Sicarii, hosted a special “AMA” (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit’s r/electronicmusic subreddit, where he was able to share his experiences as a dance music journalist and building Billboard Dance into the respected publication it is today. Medved began as a Berlin-based freelancer in 2014, but quickly established himself as one of Billboard Dance’s most important assets before joining the Billboard team for good in March of 2015. Since then, he has penned pieces with an eye towards ending the fight between the underground and the mainstream once and for all, in addition to trying to help keep cell phones in your pocket and off the dance floor. In addition to Medved’s work with Billboard, he recently unveiled his DJ / producer persona, Sicarii – and he’s already played Billboard’s Hot 100 Festival and remixed Maroon 5’s “Sugar.”
On his AMA, Matt Medved answered questions on a plethora of topics ranging from the role of ghost producers in dance music, to his favorite genre at the moment, to his favorite artist to see live. It’s not often that casual fans get a first-hand look at the experiences of someone as integrated in the scene as Matt Medved, so we’ve put together a list of our favorite moments from his AMA below the jump. You can check out Matt Medved’s full AMA here.
