Slinger is back with his second remix ever, this time reworking Pharrell’s “Brand New” into an explosive party for your ears! I know a lot of you are probably bummed that it’s Monday, but I’m here to change that for ya’ll as Monday is the first day of the work week, and it’s better to start off your week happy then miserable and complaining, so why not let a little bass and Pharrell’s happy spirit cheer you up and get you set for success? VMan’s got you! This is a must listen and look out for more from the UK producer. Smile!

Progressive House | Sigma – Nobody To Love (Third Party Remix)

Posted by on April 25, 2014

What started out as a bootleg for the hip-hop classic “Bound 2” by Kanye West turned into an official release for the production duo Sigma. That then was remixed from its drum and bass style into progressive house magic by the UK based duo Third Party. They have not released a whole lot of music recently but they continue to keep the quality of their releases high with this one.

Deep House | Disclosure x Friend Within – The Mechanism

If you were to ask Disclosure if their music is “deep house” they would tell you it isn’t. Which is fair I guess, because if we’re being technical, you’d call it “UK garage.” The fact still remains, Disclosure has pretty much popularized a “pop” version of deep house that has sparked a movement that’s combating the progressive house nonsense that you hear regularly on the Beatport charts. Deep house is in, progressive house is out. I’m not wild about this new Disclosure track, but we’re always willing to take it von deeper. Disclosure. Friend Within. The Mechanism. April 15th.

Yes, Spring is definitely here! Last year I fell on Satin Jackets, 2 producers from Germany who decided to link up and make fresh nu-disco house records for the good of humanity, with their record ” You Make Me Feel Good” and today out of the blue with a premiere on The Vibe Guide, they decided to release their ultra-chill “Summer is coming” remix of up and coming UK star Salt Ashes. I’ve had this track on repeat since the first listen and you should to. Let yourself be taken away by the vocals of Salt Ashes, and the genius of Satin Jackets. This is a must listen!

House | Mutiny UK & Steve Mac ft. Nate James – Feel The Pressure (Axwell & NEW_ID Mixes)

Posted by on March 31, 2014

Mutiny UK & Steve Mac ft. Nate James - Feel The PressureRemember “Feel The Vibe”, “Tell Me Why”, “Submariner” and “I Found U”? That is Axwell that made him so popular with his ability to engrave a sexy groove within a melodic and emotional track. Nothing has changed since the late 2000s, though his recent tunes have erred on the side of anthemic (not that anyone is complaining), versus the more stripped down and groove driven tunes of the past. “I Am” tabbed Dutch rising stars Sick Individuals to collab on that ridiculous project and now he comes together with the newly branded “NEW_ID”, formerly “NO_ID”, to craft to scintillating and groovy remixes for “Feel The Pressure”. This is vintage Ax that uses the grooviness from NEW_ID to make it even better. It’s new Axwell, must I say more? I am sure Hook N Sling (like the rest of us) is getting a bit impatient waiting for “Tokyo By Night” to release…..

Bass, Deep House | NVOY – Don’t Ever

Posted by on March 30, 2014

With the arrival of springtime and summer a moment away on the horizon, it seemed inevitable that the UK house duo NVOY would provide us with something to cater to those vibes. While their previous releases have all been deep, club-appropriate bangers, this track is a much airier one that I envision myself hearing at some chic, rooftop, poolside day party in the upcoming months, full of trendy socialites with good taste in music and bottomless Aperol Spritz. But I mean, even if I still don’t get an invite to the party, I’m confident in the growing hype of NVOY, this track will still be spinning. Hold your breath for their first official release here soon!

Chill, Electronic | The Weeknd – Wanderlust (Snakehips Remix)

I have literally been obsessed with this remix for the past 24 hours. Literally. And I don’t mean the figurative type of literal that sorority girls use (e.g. – “Oh my gosh, I am literally dying right now.”) – I mean that I have been bumping this track non-stop for the past day, praying it doesn’t get old too quickly.

Throwing down a funked-out version of The Weeknd’s “Wanderlust,” the UK-based homies Snakehips will have you on your feet as soon as the vocals fade in, making it a prime addition to your party playlist. By far my principle nominee for the track of the week, turn this one up loud. Literally.
