Hip-Hop | Twista – Yo B**ch Chose Me (Ft. Juicy J)
Posted by dshaq on August 30, 2012
Twista and Juicy J link up on this song which is set to be on Twista’s upcoming project, Reloaded, which drops on Tuesday. The track was produced by Juicy, giving that nice old school sample with the classic trap drums. Check back for that Twista tape on Tuesday. Shouts to FSD for the heads up.
Events, Trap | JMSN – Girl (I Used To Know) [MiMOSA Remix]
Posted by Mach on August 23, 2012
Most current Trap is terrible, just because you have never heard of Trap before its recent explosion doesn’t mean you should try to create it. Everyone who has or is planning to create a Trap track please listen to this and take notes. MiMOSA has created the perfect example of good Trap. The beat isn’t Moombahton repetitive, as most recent Trap is, and better reflects its Hip-hop counterpart. The remix is exceptional, JMSN remixes are always an interesting listen for the versatility the vocals hold. MiMOSA gives Trap a good name, if the genre has any chance of survival at this point, his example is the one to follow. Also check out MiMOSA on his Future Trill tour this fall, going from september all the way until the end of November. Tickets on sale soon. Dates after the jump.
Moombahton | Moombah Mondays

JWLS killed it on his latest release under Nadastrom’s new label. The “Bashin EP” consists of two dope originals from the Moombah Master and a pretty sick edit from Nadastrom. Don’t sleep on this release and grab it off Beatport HERE. Check out the sampler below to hear all the tracks.
Milo & Otis ripped this remix a new one. Their latest freebie is a trapt out remix to Yung Joc’s It’s Goin’ Down and I have to say it one of the better trap remixes lately. The past influx of trap remixes have all been dull, unoriginal, and too similar, but the guys definitely added a fresh aspect to this dope remix.
Always producing something fresh, Aylen has graced us with another release this week. His latest single entitled On Fire is a pretty sick original mix by the up coming artist. Making sure to include the ever so appealing laser synths, this track has got it all. You can download the other remixes along with this original off of his soundcloud.
After Jonny Chino’s remix of Daft Punk’s One More Time I didn’t think I would be seeing any other Moombahton remixes that would compare to his outstanding remix. It seems as though Alex S. has come through and put up some competition. I have to say this remix definitely won me over after my first listen.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Electronic, Trap | Birdy Nam Nam – Jaded Future EP
Posted by Sev on July 17, 2012
The highly anticipated Birdy Nam Nam EP “Jaded Future” has finally been released on OWSLA. Containing remixes from big names such as Skrillex, Foreign Beggars, Culprate, and more; this EP surely has something for everyone to listen to. What surprised me was how many trap-style remixes this EP contained. Birdy Nam Nam have been around for quite sometime, probably most well known for their outstanding live performances, which you can watch HERE.
As far as this well rounded EP goes, it is another must have for me. All the tracks and remixes sound completely different to one another with the perfect flow from track to track. If you played the Culprate remix and compared it to the original mix of Cadillac Dreams the only thing that would indicate they are the same track is the vocals, but other than that the two tracks have no similar indications. Of course everyone was waiting for the two remixes from Skrillex, which turned out to be better than expected in my opinion. The DnB remix was top quality, as expected from Skrillex, and the trap remix also was a very interesting take on the track. I have to say though although Skrillex and Culprate’s remixes were both exhilarating, Foreign Beggars remix was my favorite easily. Their hard hitting vocals mixed with the trap style instrumental came out to be perfection, but that is just my opinion. Grab the EP on Beatport HERE.

Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Caleb James – Ground Up (Mixtape)
Posted by dshaq on July 15, 2012
Another post, another Chicago rapper. Caleb James, who is a relatively new face to FNT, released his latest mixtape today, and trust me, it’s a good one. Caleb is unique because he is so versatile. Instead of sticking to solely trap beats, or smoker’s anthems, he varies his beats allowing him to show his various flows. Garnering a couple notable features from fellow SAVEMONEY partners such as Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa, Nico Segal, and others, it makes for a great listen from start to finish. Be on the lookout for more Caleb and other SAVEMONEY artists.
Trap | Dillon Francis – Masta Blasta (THE REBIRTH)
Posted by Sev on July 11, 2012
Looks like the Trap wave has officially settled in with most artists. Skrillex is on this list with a trapt-out remix to Birdy Nam Nam’s Goin’ In, now we have Dillon Francis revamping one of his biggest Moombah tunes off of his hit EP “Westside”. I’m not complaining at all because all these trap remixes are opening doors once again to new styles and new fusions of genres just like Moombah did when it first emerged.
Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | King Louie – Showtime (Mixtape)
Posted by dshaq on July 9, 2012
King Louie has been one of Chicago’s most respected up and coming rapper’s for a while now, even getting a shout-out from Kanye in the “I Don’t Like” remix. What we have here is his brand new mixtape. This 22 track tape is bound to please all musical tastes with some slowed down tracks, some upbeat ones, and of course a lot of trap beatz. Be on the lookout for more Louie, because this tape is too raw.
