Hip-Hop, Pop | Leaf – Naked & Wasted [Mixtape]
Posted by Jess on January 27, 2013

Introducing Leaf, an extremely talented artist who is one to watch in 2013. The 17-year-old New York native just dropped her debut mixtape entitled Naked & Wasted in which she raps and sings over a selection of Electronic, Trap and Pop productions. She even goes in over Carnage’s incredible remix of “Spaceman”. Some of my favorite tracks off the tape include “Running”, “Spaceman”, “Lie To Me” , “Can’t Say No” and “Wreckless”. Read what she had to say about it and stream/download it below.
“Naked & Wasted stands for Naked Emotions & Wasted Youth. The title is a mock at society and the culture of my generation at the moment. Everyone follows the same trends, music is only taken at face value (& made to sell) and if you don’t break it down for the listener they’ll never take advantage and look deeper then they should. Naked & Wasted is a compilation of electronic music, trap beats and R&B/Pop vocals. Melodies and lyrics written completely by myself it is truly an open diary of my life, how I feel and how I’m sure many others do as well. The mixtape embraces the typical struggle of any human being dwelling on this earth. Though it may dabbles in pop melodies & synthesized beats it is not just another party anthem.” – Leaf

Electro, Trap | Tommy Trash – Cascade (Tim Gunter Trap Remix)
Posted by dshaq on January 10, 2013
Versatile is Tim Gunter’s middle name. Beginning with hip hop beats, moving to electro, and now tackling the trap genre, Tim has proven that his production game is on point in all areas. Sampling Tommy Trash’s amazing track Cascade, Tim uses the great synths and throws in a bass line and some heavy hitting drums to get the great trap elements. Be on the lookout for more Tim Gunter drops, this is only the beginning for him.
Events, Review | Afrojack, Diplo & Rusko invade Pier 94 For A Pre-New Years Party To Remember
Posted by Middy on January 7, 2013
Accompanied by Sazon Booya, Leroy Styles & Bobby Burns, Afrojack, Diplo & Rusko came down on Pier 94 in New York City on the eve of New Years Eve with a vengeance, displaying a wide variety of different styles and genres across this outstanding lineup. The venue was also playing host to Afrojack’s Jacked NYE party the following night, which went off with a bang, but no expense was spared or production lost on this night with 3 stars taking the stage. While it may have been the night before the biggest party night of the year and one might expect people to spend the night gearing up for NYE, but that did not stop the thousands of concert goers from seeing Diplo, Afrojack, & Rusko put on a clinic at Pier 94 well into the early morning. Leroy Styles & Sazon Booya got things started as the crowd started to file in at the 8pm, mixing in a steady pace of moombah and electro, keeping the growing swell of people moving and getting them warmed up for the main acts about to grace the decks.
