Chill, Electronic | Rick Ross ft. The Weeknd – In Vein (Nightizm Remix)

Posted by on May 3, 2014

Toronto based artist Nightizm has dropped a new free track for us this week, a remix of “In Vein” by Rick Ross ft. The Weeknd. This is an excellent late night track with a bassy, mellow vibe. Slow and emotional, this remix is top notch. A word I saw come up in the comments to describe it was “silky” and I think that is accurate. Warped vocals decorate the bangin’ bass and soulful melodies throughout the track. This beat is one to be reckoned with. If you like the “chopped and screwed” sort of sound, this track will hit the mark, and then some.

Kill Them With Colour hits us with a bootleg remix of U2’s “Ordinary Love” adding a fresh house spin to a classic rock record. The duo is made up of Toronto natives Wesley Marsh and Jason Carr who have made a name for themselves consistently releasing remixes of Kendrick Lamar, Disclosure and Bon Iver tunes among others. I  strongly suggest you check out their SoundCloud. Consider this post FNT after-hours, and this record couldn’t be anymore fitting. This is a must listen and a must download!

SeanLeon AlbumHip hop has been struggling lately with new talent, but watch out, Toronto native Sean Leon is making a statement for 2014.

After releasing his project, “narcissus, THE DROWNING OF EGO”, he plans on releasing a slew of new music in 2014 and taking the industry by storm. I honestly feel bad for downloading this for free, it is that good.

Make sure you DL the project here and look out for Sean Leon:

Chill, Electronic | OBESON – Insomnia

Posted by on February 10, 2014

Obeson, pronounced “obey-son” for those who are not familiar, from Toronto, put out this unique track today and I have to say I am impressed. Using only the lyric “when you feel so tired but you can’t sleep” from Coldplay’s “Fix You” for the vocal sample, Obeson successfully conveys the vibe of insomnia throughout this eerie track. This mellow track is dark and mysterious, like the night when you can’t sleep. Grab it for free for your next late night.

Mix, Mixtapes, Review | 10 Mixes From 2013 That Made My Jaw Drop

Posted by on December 23, 2013

One cool thing that happened to me this year was that I got hired on to write for FNT. I have followed this website for years and it has led me to mountains of great music. I’m glad that I now have the opportunity to share music with the website. This year I became a bigger fan of mixes; I love to see what artists can do when given an extended period of time within which they can be creative. Below is the list of 10 mixes that I liked the most from this past year, with some other mixes mentioned at the end that didn’t make this list based on who knows what. The list is more or less ranked in order, with mix #1 definitely being my favourite. If you don’t want to listen to all of the mixes, and don’t care what I have to say about them, then skip ahead and at least listen to the number 1 mix – Space Jams by The M Machine (hence the above, cool picture of those guys). Thanks for supporting the website by visiting it, thanks for supporting artists and their music, and thanks for reading our posts.
