Dubstep | Illenium & Said The Sky – Falling In (ft. Mimi Page)

Posted by on July 18, 2014

I knew before I clicked play that this would be a good track considering all the names that worked on it. I was not disappointed. This is Said the Sky’s second FNT post, and it is absolutely deserving. Said the Sky teamed up with his buddy Illenium and created this dubstep masterpiece with vocals from Mimi Page. The track starts out with some light electronic piano and vocals, and builds gracefully into melodic growls and synths. A few sections push into the drumstep area as well. Dubstep | Gemini – Fire Inside (Said The Sky Remix)

Posted by on June 24, 2014

Today seems like a dubstep sort of Tuesday doesn’t it? Also, today marks Said the Sky’s FNT debut with his remix of “Fire Inside” by Gemini. I love the original track, so I was hoping this remix wouldn’t destroy it. Said The Sky absolutely blew me away with this melodic flip of Gemini’s emotional original. It’s clear that this level of composition took some serious thought and precision. Said The Sky, aka Trever Christensen, from Denver, describes his sound as “dubstep infused with soaring melodies and heart wrenching harmonies. A sound from the clouds.” Couldn’t agree more. Grab it for free below!

Dubstep | Illenium X Said The Sky ft. Sirma – Drop Our Hearts (Part II)

Illenium X Said The Sky ft. Sirma - Drop Our Hearts (Part II)
My favorite tune from Illenium’s four track “Risen” EP just got a facelift, as he tabs fellow Denver producer Said The Sky to take on his most successful tune to date. Remixing your own track is not always easy (though Avicii just crushed a whole album of it), but with the fresh ideas of Said The Sky, it may have just gotten better. The vocal from Sirma is kept in tact with much of the original melodic structure, but the two producers give it a bit more bite without going over the top.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Kyle Lucas & Captain Midnite — I’m Only A Little Crazy, Baby (Haunting Me) [Music Video]

Posted by on March 4, 2013

Here is the latest video from one of my favorite emcee/producer duos, Kyle Lucas and Captain Midnite. Just off the heels of the Seattle producer’s most recent EP, All This Will Fade, Midnite connects with the Marietta rapper over this fiery track, complete with some visuals that definitely live up to the track’s name (hint: there’s murder, straight jackets, and an insane asylum, among other things). Check the video out below, and if you haven’t gotten their most recent collaborations, you’re going to want to get on that now.
