Events, Review | I Love This City (Day 1 Recap, San Francisco)

Posted by on May 26, 2012

I Love This City may be one of my most favorite events I have been to, with the one negative being that having a huge festival in an amphitheater with seats may not be the best idea. Even with that said I had a great time on day 1. The day over, sore feet, and a camera packed with awesome photos, I would say the day was very successful. We managed to catch the following artists in order, Fareoh, Nervo, Araabmuzik, Cookie Monsta, Tenderloin (Chuckies replacement due to missed flight), Steve Aoki, Sebastian ingrosso, and Afrojack.

Dubstep | R Rated #16

Posted by on February 15, 2012

Jesus, this weeks R Rated is crazy. Sev and I could not stop finding sick tracks, just an overflow of filth. Kicking off this week is an epic remix of Antidote that Schoolboy just dropped. Prepare for your ears to bleed.

Svyable just missed the deadline for Steve Aoki’s remix contest…good for us haha. Since he missed the deadline we don’t have to wait to download this beautiful remix.

Damn, Labrat has some tasty wobbles on this drop. I’m not one for a lame wobble wednesday, but I think I can make an exception with this filthy remix.

The filth just keep rolling out in this post. I can feel the bass bullets pounding into my chest, K2 did an epic job on this.

What would an R Rated post be without a dope original. I love the synths used in the drop. I’m not sure if I’m hearing Sonic jump sound effects, but I like it.

I couldn’t decide whether or not to leave out this funky remix. So I listened to the track again, then it dropped…decision made.

This last track we just had to throw in. Flux Pavilion & Nero’s remix is good and all, but lets be serious, Kill The Noise kills it. Once this beast drops there will be no place to hide. Must Be The Feeling and it’s remixes drop March 4th.

Electro-House | Steve Aoki ft. Wynter Gordon – Ladi Dadi (Tommy Trash Remix)

Posted by on January 31, 2012

Starting off 2012 hot with his remix of Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party’s massive collaboration “Antidote”, as well his highly successful single “Cascade”, Tommy Trash now delivers another another remix of one of Steve Aoki’s singles featuring Wynter Gordan off of his recently released album “Wonderland“. Tommy Trash takes this song and adds his typical grungy electro house style to it that has become so popular with fans and other artists alike. He does keep much of the original structure and song in tact, but gives it more teeth for a more club friendly feel. Expect to hear this being supported out by many established Djs. Tommy Trash is touring North America now for the first time ever and will be at UMF so get your tickets. He broke his ankle recently and will still be doing shows soon, so you have no excuse not to see this crazy Australian. Get this and the other remixes on BEATPORT.

Albums | Steve Aoki – Wonderland (Review)

Posted by on January 18, 2012

Steve Aoki has already seen big things in 2012 and we’re barely halfway through January. He started off by headlining a wild three-day cruise around the Bahamas (have you seen the pictures from Holy Ship? Craaazy) and then immediately turned around to drop his hotly anticipated debut album, “Wonderland.” Big ups to Steve and the whole Dim Mak gang — the album has understandably been generating a ton of buzz around the interwebz since its Jan 9th release. But now that the dust has begun to settle, let’s cut through the Paris Hilton tweets and MTV.com accolades to see what’s actually going on here. READ ON >>

Events | Identity Festival [Hollywood] Review

Posted by on September 19, 2011

With a last minute venue change, a decent lineup, and the most anticipated stop of Identity the following day…Identity Hollywood still managed to deliver. Despite it’s traditional use of indoor performances, The Palladium actually worked extremely well by turning the back parking lot into massive outdoor arena. Everyone performed as expected except for one artist who completely blew us away…hit the jump for all the details. For all of you that we promised to upload your pictures to, you can find them here.

House, Preview | Nervo ft Afrojack & Steve Aoki – We’re All No One (Incl. Hook N’ Sling Remix)

Posted by on September 5, 2011

I originally wanted to let Nervo have their moment to shine, but this Dirty South song is just too good not to post so it has to go in here. Also the Nervo sisters are Australian, Dirty South is Australian, fun time. This video is from Electric Zoo. This song from Nervo with help from Afrojack and Steve Aoki is absolutely nuts. It is not like the previous collaboration between Steve Aoki and Nervo on “The Way We See The World”, “We’re All No One” has more synth, piano and more beautiful vocals from the Aussie sisters. The first mix is something Nervo previewed a while back and provided huge anticipation for this song with their “NERVO Goes To Paris Remix”. The Hook N’ Sling remix takes this song to a level that is out of this world. It is incredible, everything is just amazing. Support Nervo and BUY the songs HERE.
