I don’t know the last time I saw a music video for a remix, but they should be made more often if they come out as good as VenessaMichaels’ did. The LA beauty is one of the area’s most unique songsters, pushing her own brand of dance music that has swayed audiences since her very first release. She’s geared up for a huge remix EP, complete with remixes of urban hits from her past. One of those is “Get Busy” by Sean Paul. Instead of simply remixing it, she did that and put together a booty-filled music video that is 100% fun. The original pairing of Rocco Rampino better known professionally as Congorock and Sean Paul, a man who has struggled to stay relevant for quite some time was a head scratcher at first, but the results were actually quite good. However the track was just begging for a remix package with Sean Paul’s very reusable vocal bit. Congorock starts us off with his distorted electro synths and thumping bass line. Valentino Khan provides an eclectic mix of a quick alternating bass line and pitched vocal bits, while GTA mixes in some dubstep to their unique offering. Firebeatz delivers the standout remix with a high-powered drop of driving electro synths that are sure to grab your attention immediately.

I know a club remix doesn’t perfectly fit in with a typical Sean Paul song, but I didn’t feel like either of these deserved the single post limelight. Perhaps I’m wrong. Both are quality tracks that deliver what you’d expect. If you’re seeking party fuel, give the DJ Rich-Art remix a shot. And if you’ve been longing for some Sean Paul – “If It Isn’t Love” will quench your thirst for a minute.
