Exclusive | Lorde – Royals (Wild Boyz! Remix)

Posted by on September 4, 2013

If you could be any type of person out there in the world today, I think you’d most want to be one of Lorde’s friends as described in her song, “Royals.” Why is that? Well, if you haven’t listened to the original song enough times to make you lose your mind (which you should, because it’s truly stunning), then you might have missed the part where Lorde turns the spotlight to the average, relatively tame, yet still considerably happy teenager in contrast to, oh you know, everyone else out there blowin’ money fast. And I was so excited to hear this remix from the up and coming producers, Wild Boyz!, because it relays that same message. These boyz draw you in right from the start and as the track escalades, nuances of 80’s style synths take you away. Comparable to a modern-day Breakfast Club theme, fit for our electronic age, if you will.

Download. Press play. Live that fantasy.

Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | BT Talks Ghost Producing, ASAW, Sharks & More (FNT Exclusive)

BT Profile

BT has become a standard bearer for innovation and excellence in dance music. He is noted as a creative producer of many different styles and sounds, as well as an acclaimed film scorer and programmer: the mind behind the now necessary stutter edit. His 9th artist album “A Song Across Wires” instantly shot up to number one on the iTunes dance charts and has produced such singles like “Must Be The Love”, “Skylarking”, and “Tomahawk”. We had the chance to chat with him last week before his show at Marquee, and of all the people I have had the chance to interview like Hardwell, Arty, Thomas Gold and Andrew Bayer, BT was probably my favorite guy to talk to.

Later that night we got to catch his set at Marquee that featured a heavy dose of ASAW and more danceable tracks from the lengthy BT discography. There were plenty of avid BT fans in attendance, so this was a party he knew how to play, even at a bottle service club like Marquee. Click past the jump to read our discussion on ghost producing, which he had some very interesting things to say about, the album, his passion for sharks and more.

Chill, Electronic | Kastle – Death From Above ft. JMSN

Posted by on August 25, 2013

Kastle has been one of my favorite producers for a few years now. “Death From Above” featuring JMSN (who is also awesome) is a single off of Kastle’s self-titled album for sale on iTunes. The vocals from all different octaves somehow flow together with the off beat rhythm. Kastle keeps his signature sexy, simple style throughout the whole album, and this single is no exception. It’s saucy and smooth and a must-have for chill electronic fans!

Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Moska Talks Beginnings, His Future and Dishes Advice to Other New Producers

Posted by on July 26, 2013

MoskaColombian producer Moska is a name being heavily supported by some of the biggest brands in the industry. At just 19 years old, his talents are nothing to ignore. Having already released tracks on Musical Freedom, Mad Decent and Mixmash, receiving heavy support from each of the label bosses, Tiesto, Diplo and Laidback Luke, and played or been scheduled to play at some of the biggest venues worldwide, Moska has his sights at the top of the dance music echelon. His genre-blending sound allows him to cross over to so many different styles, having already collabed with Tiesto on their remix of “Century”.

He plans to move to Miami by the end of the year to move his base of operations to one of the meccas of dance music today. One issue that has held him back is visa problems, specifically the O-2 visa that holds back his ability to work in the US. The O-2 is designed for people in the entertainment industry, notably individuals new or unrecognized in the industry as per the US government. Because of this, he has to be working alongside Laidback Luke, his current sponsor and any other work would be considered a violation of his visa. So shows, studio time and any professional work has to go through Luke, which can really hinder his growth as an artist here, especially when promotors want to book him. However all of this should be resolved with by the end of the year with many fees paid, lawyers hired, letters sent to the government by Tiesto, Laidback Luke & others, and pages, upon pages of documents sent, he should be fine to go on Laidback Luke’s Fall bus tour in October.

We had the chance to talk to him about his bright future, how he got into electronic music, working with Tiesto and some advice he gave for young producers, like himself.

Electro-House | TJR – What’s Up Suckaz

Posted by on July 22, 2013

TJR - What's Up SuckazThere are few who can survive working with Mr. Worldwide with their artistic reputation almost entire unscathed. TJR did just that because the tunes he makes are so unique to him, that you accept one chance to get paid and exposed to millions of new listeners like that. “What’s Up Suckaz” is his latest single on Chris Lake‘s Rising Music, a relationship that has worked very well for both parties, that evokes the style that we have grown fond of hearing from TJR. With a bouncy bass line, gritty, grinding saws and well placed vocal samples, this track is a unique cut and sure-fire hit in a climate where watered down hardstyle kicks and triplets are easiest road to mainstream dance music success for producers.

Progressive House | Project 46 vs Linkin Park (Shadow of the Day Mix)

In terms of progressive house producers, Project 46 is among Canada’s finest. Not only are their productions consistently amazing, but they are also adamant on giving their tracks away for free. Something extremely commendable for artists in their position. They are back with a new track and it is absolute magic. They’ve amalgamated an incredibly cheery original with Linkin Park’s “Shadow of the Day”. Another quality track from the duo.

Trance | Dash Berlin vs. Band Of Horses – The Funeral (Dash Berlin Bootleg)

Dash Berlin vs. Band Of Horses - The Funeral (Dash Berlin Bootleg)The wait is over. The thirst has been real by not only in the trance community, but the entire dance music community for this magical bootleg from Dash Berlin. What makes it even better is that it is a free download. Finally the trance collective known as Dash Berlin have released their bootleg of Band Of Horses’ “The Funeral”. This track has been a staple of not only Dash Berlin’s sets for close to 2 years now, but also many other trance DJs like Armin van Buuren. It combines the uplifting, progressive trance sensitibilites of Dash Berlin’s two producers with the emotive, soothing rock qualities of the original, making good use of the Ben Bridwell’s vocals and an easy guitar melody, with euphoric chords and key play from Dash Berlin. Grab the free download below because you would be insane not to.
