House | Leon Lour Remix Eric Prydz’s “Pjanoo” Classic
Posted by BIGLIFE on January 7, 2015
Holy smokes! Just when I thought I’d never hear another good Eric Prydyz “Pjanoo” remix one of my favorite Youtube channels goes and releases an incredible tune out of nowhere. Talk about kicking off 2015 with a bang. Little is known about this London based producer, but what can be gleaned from his socials is that he’s a football fan, likes beer, and big fat tunes. Sounds like my kind of guy.
Leon Lour’s “Pjanoo” remix is available now on Eton Messy Records. *Fedora Tip*
House | Royce Remixes Jill Scott’s “Golden” Classic
Posted by BIGLIFE on December 26, 2014
Every once and a while a tune slips past us. It can easily happen, as we have over 20,000 unread messages on any single day languishing in our submission account. I’m always on the hunt for tunes. While hunting, I spotted Royce’s “Golden” remix in the wild and knew I had to grab it. It’s not a new tune, but Royce deserves to make his FreshNewTracks.com debut with this incredibly groovy remix. Little is know about this Seoul based producer, however, we we do know is that we want to hear more in 2015.
Deep House | The Magician Releases “Magic Tape 48”
Posted by BIGLIFE on December 16, 2014
The Magician. So hot right now. The Magician. Dropping a “Magic Tape” almost every other week, the mysterious producer is back with another installment full of incredible obscure tracks that are hard to find. As always, there’s no tracklist, which will require the listener to hunt them down. Catch The Magician’s “Potion” tour next year that are full of European dates via his website here.
Future House | Showtek Redies “90s By Nature” Featuring MC Ambush
Posted by BIGLIFE on December 15, 2014
Everyone is making future house tunes, which I can’t be upset about. It’s a new sound (pioneered
largely by Tchami and Oliver Heldens) that artists who previously made generic progressive house nonsense (like Showtek) are now all over. Regardless, this is a fat tune. The only issue I have with it is that a producer named Girls Love DJ’s teamed up with Praia Del Sol to make a “Bigfoot” re-work that was released in September that sounds strangely similar. Of course, all the Soundcloud links are down, however, a Youtube video still exists. Play the two tracks side by side and tell me that isn’t a variation of the same track. I’m not accusing either party of wrong-doing, but something is up. What I find fascinating is that Showtek either scooped the track from these guys or was producing under a new name to avoid detection and criticism from his fan base. “90’s By Nature” drops December 29th.
Melodic Progressive, Trance | Andrew Lang releases ‘Presence of Mind’ on Progressive House Worldwide
Posted by JT on December 9, 2014
It is very rare to find a true rendition of progressive meets trance, but Andrew Lang has fused these two sounds and created the tranquil ‘Presence of Mind.’ This Toronto, Canada based producer has been making waves in the melodic progressive scene and so I was surprised and shocked that Andrew stepped out of his comfort zone and amped the BPM, followed by a heavenly break that tuned a chord progression exemplary of the quality of music this man consistently supplies. I truly expect this tune to turn some heads in the Trance scene as it finds the perfect balance between melodic and progressive trance.
Ambient, Chill | Rootkit – Carry Me Away (Original Mix)
Posted by JT on December 5, 2014
Out on the infamous Monstercat label, Rootkit just delivered a dosage relaxation and I’m drifting. ‘Carry Me Away’ emanates a casual vibe. The ambient vocal chop in the background, when mashed with a slow bassline, steps away from his associated deep club sound. This track demonstrates the producer’s versatility, from drum and bass, to deep house, and now a chilled compilation of technological heaven. The kid from Norway isn’t showing signs of slowing down any time soon and I still get a jolt of excitement seeing a new Rootkit track pop up on my feed.

Out as part of the Elliptical Sun Melodies [ESM133] compilation, Musty hits it out of the park, taking us a on a feel-trip to the mystical playgrounds residing among the cloud. He adds to the quality content consistently provided by the label, with high frequency synths and a melodic chord progression that showcases his aptitude as a melodic progressive producer. Hats off to Musty for this one.
